Planning a Bachelorette Party
58
The bride’s perfect opportunity to have one last hoorah is during the bachelorette party together with her closest girl friends and bridesmaids. This can be one of the most memorable parts of her wedding experience.
Bachelorette parties can be as simple as a spa party and lingerie shower or as wild and crazy as a weekend in Vegas. This guide will give you some tips on how to plan a bachelorette party that the bride will remember forever.
- Ask the bride what she wants in a bachelorette party. She may have a locale in mind. If you want to host a surprise party, be sure to know what she doesn’t want to do. Get a clear picture of her limits on things such as drinking, strippers and places to travel.
- Assemble a planning committee. The bridesmaids are traditionally the ones to plan or host the party. If there are several bridesmaids or even just close friends, divide the duties and expenses. The bride should not have to pay for anything.
- Make a list of supplies. Decide on the things that you will need to make the party fun and enjoyable. Will you wear headband veils or quirky jewelry? Will you give out unique party favors? Will you play silly bachelorette games? Plan ahead for these items and you will have a successful party.
- Decide on a destination. If you will just go clubbing at the local bar scene, there’s no need to make reservations other than getting a designated driver or reserving a limousine. If you plan in going to Vegas or anywhere out of town, be certain to book in advance.
- Organize schedules and payments. Be sure everyone invited is available at the time you plan to have the party. Make sure any deposits for hotels or reservations are collected early on.
- Book ahead any entertainment. If you will have male entertainment, you will need to have a reservation and maybe get a short profile of the entertainer.
- Plan the outfits. Many brides-to-be could wear unique veils and outfits to wear at their party. Be sure to have it prepared in advance.
- Arrange favors. Make awesome gift bags for the party guests. These can be a fun way to celebrate the coming wedding. Familiar bachelorette party favors are champagne glasses with the wedding date, photo albums with the party date, flip flops, beach towels, etc.
- Make the night or weekend memorable. Plan tons of activities for lengthy party events such as dinner in with racy board games, a night out at a trendy party destination, and the lingerie shower which is a very frequent part of the bachelorette merriment.
- Create a memory book for the bride. If you can have the pages ready to go before the party so you can get the photos developed before the weekend is over. Present the book to the bride when everyone departs if you can. Have everyone write a note in the book before presenting it.
- Create a memorable item for the partygoers. A great send-off is a picture frame decorated with the words Bachelorette Party or something to that effect. Take a photo of each attendee with the bride. Get them developed and present the photos to each girl when she leaves.
- Enjoy the party! With a little planning, everyone can help the bride celebrate a new step in her life.
