What is a Plasma TV?
A plasma television emits a fluorescent light that illuminate pixels - small lights that are red, green, and blue in color. Varying combinations of each color light create all the colors that are seen when a television is turned on. The word plasma refers to the gas inside the television made up off ions and atoms - the energy that is created from the movement of these electrons creates a light energy.
The plasma gas is sandwiched between two plates of glass that is viewed as television shows. The plasma and other components of the TV (address and display electrodes) take up very little space and allows the creation of very thin televisions.
Each pixel in a plasma television is lit up separately, creating a quality picture from any viewing angle.
Panasonic
Panasonic is a household name in North America; they make many entertainment products for the home. It is a trusted name brand that means quality and assurance - the electronics they create will provide many hours of enjoyment.
The Panasonic plasma televisions range in size - the largest is 65 inches - like all television sizes, the measurement is made on the diagonal. The 65 inch Plasma HDTV from Panasonic is detailed below.
It is hard to imagine that from three colors (red, green, and blue), 29 billion color can be created for the most vivid television experience available. With a resolution of 1920 X 1080 - the pixel count is one of the highest you can buy.
The wide-screen format allows you to take full advantage of letter box formatting - recreating the theatre experience. The Panasonic 65 inch television also comes with the ability to watch slide shows of your favorite photographs and receive HDTV signals with out the need of an additional cable box. Parental controls are built-in to the television, parents can block channels or content ratings with the use of a pin code.
Zenith
Zenith is a brand that has been around for awhile and they offer both LCD and plasma television models. Their largest plasma TV is the 50 inch plasma with integrated HDTV.
The tuner delivering the HDTV signal is built-in eliminating the need of an external box provided by the cable company or purchased separately. It has a screen resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels. And the television has all the necessary hook ups to connect DVD players and gaming systems.
The lower resolution makes the Zenith model less desirable and less expensive than the Panasonic. The largest size is also 15 inches smaller that what is available from the competitor. But for a press difference of $8000, Zenith gives consumers the opportunity to own a large plasma television at an affordable price.

Great reviews on Panasonic and Zenith! I'm pretty partial to Panasonic though. I think Panasonic TVs are way better than Zenith's!
