Playing PS2 Games on Laptop

I can now play my PS2 games on my laptop.  This means no more hogging the television.  This also means that I can play PS2 when someone else is hogging the television.  This also means I can capture the screen and video of my gameplay to show it to the world.  I did all this using a simple USB device called Easycap.

Easycap Video Capture Device

Easycap Video Capture is a USB device.  One end is a USB Head and the other consists of Red, Yellow and White cables.  You plug in the USB to your laptop and the other to the cables of your video output device, in my case, my PS2.

Before using it, there is a disc with software that I needed to install.  After installing the proper drivers, the laptop would be able to register the signals from the PS2.  Then a video editing software would be needed.  I am using Ulead Video Studio, the bundled software that came with the Easycap.  Clicking on "capture video" tab would show me the output of the PS2.  Therefore, I can play my PS2 on my laptop and even capture the gameplay video if I want!

This Easycap Video Capture Device is not like a VGA Box.  And it is better than a VGA Box.  My other article on my website has information about that:
