Today I’m going to be reviewing the Playstation 3 80gb backwards compatible gaming console. Although there are several different types of playstation 3 consoles on the market right now, today we will just be going over the 80 gig backwards compatible console to eliminate as much confusion as possible.

Now the first thing you will notice on the console, looking from the front is the four usb 2.0 slots. These slots can be use for charging the consoles controllers, pairing a wireless Bluetooth headset, or even plugging in a mass storage device to install pictures, videos, or songs.

If you look directly above the four slots you will see a door with three round dots on it. To open this door simply lift up and you will see that there are also three slots for card reading, a cf slot, a sd/micro sd slot, and a pro slot. These slots can be used for storing photo’s or for transferring whatever you have stored on the cards to the playstation console.

Next look over to the right of the card slots and you will see the built in dvd/blue-ray cd drive. Below the drive is you playstation logo that can be twisted to allow the logo to be in the upright position whether the console is laying flat or on its side.

Below the playstation logo you will find the cd eject button that is flush with the console and to the right of that is the power/ reset button which is also flush with the console along with the sony logo and two led light displays, one for power and one for hdd activity.

On the right side of the playstation console are the exhaust fans along with several logos displaying with devices the console is compatible with, blu-ray disc, dvd video/rom, super audio cd, compact disc, dolby true hd, dolby digital, dts digital sound, Bluetooth, and hdmi.

The back of the console displays your unique serial number as well as hdmi out plug, a lan plug, digital out optical plug, and avi multi out plug. Also included on the back of the console is a main power switch and your ac in port to plug in your ac power cord. Besides from the lan port this console also gives you the option to go wireless via a internet router.

On the left side of the console is the hdd cover and cage containing your hard drive as well as eight air vents. Refer to your manual for hard drive warnings as removing or damaging your hard drive may void warranty. Also on the left side of the console are three black rubber feet designed to support the console while being used on its side.

The bottom of the console reveals the official sony label showing that the console is wi/fi certified and also model number and additional information. Also are four black square rubber feet to support the console while it is being used in its normal position. The top of the console simply shows playstation 3 logo written in silver lettering and trim.

This playstation 3 80gb backwards compatible console originally listed for 699.99 when first introduced and included one dual shock 3 wireless controller, power cord, avi multi cables, one usb cable, and owner manual along with a welcome to playstation dvd.
