Poem - Mannah from the Muse
63..after David Caspar Friedrich
as i trudge through the winter of my years
the constant snow plagues my soul
my friends the trees mock me
bending to the storms of love
the shadow of the ruins of life
a backdrop to my wanderings
the writings on my staff
the only sanity I feel
the skin of brail
tender in my touch
words fingered and thumbed
to the mind
mannah from the muse
.

thanks a lot Miahbell for this nice comment...
I owe this poem to the painting of David Caspar Friedrich since I can almost see myself struggle with the demands of day to day life on the canvas.
The winter scene makes me think of how often poets live a life alone...Drax
that was pretty amazing
Hey jeremyXcore thanks very much for saying so, it always great to get encouragement and nice words since for the poet it is often always writing and existing in the alone...

So enchanting that world you speak of in transition of thought and reality.
