Poems About Jesus

Introduction

I thought I should put my poems together instead of having them spread out all around HubPages. These will be for some of my poems about Jesus. Each poem will have it's own comment capsule for those who want to comment or review them. I don't mind being critiqued. One thing that makes a good writer, is being able to handle criticism.

You don't have to use each individual comment section unless you want to.

Jesus Died For You Too

This is the very first poem I ever wrote. It was written in February of 2007. I guess I was kind of a late bloomer as far as poetry goes, but I merely tried to follow the leading of the Holy Ghost in my writing.

"Father forgive them," I heard Him say

He hung on the cross, on this dreary day

The blood He shed, fell down to the dust

To pay for our sins His death was a must.

"They know not what it is that they do"

As He gave up the ghost for me and you

As darkness swept above all the land

His Father in heaven... held back His hand.

And after the earth began to quake

They still mocked Him as their heads they did shake

I stood and watched as He died that day

Desired to stop it no words did I say.

One thing I know that happened this day

He died for the sheep that had gone astray

Now I know why He had remained true

Glory to God! Jesus died for you too.

What will you do, when He comes again

And He sees that you, are still in your sins?

Repent at that time?...Hide in your shame?

Praise God! Now you know it isn't a game?

Trust in Him now while time is still here

Repent of your sins, and shed many tears

He loved you so He died on a tree

Our sins on His back for you and for me.

The time is here repent of your sins

To be lost no more NO! not ever again

Nothing can remove us, from His hand!

As His love spreads throughout all of the land.

Joh 19:30 Then when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, It is finished! And He bowed His head and gave up the spirit.

Follow Me

This poem is kind of short, but length of poems isn't always what;s needed. The theme of the poem and the descriptions used in words is what makes a poem good.

Follow me, I will give you life

Victory over sin and strife

I am the way, the truth you know

I'll make your soul as white as snow.

The enemy comes, and he goes

My love for you, forever flows

Keeping you safe, from guilt and shame

You will then have, a brand new name.

The old man gone, a new man born

To go to others and forewarn

The Lord is here! Sound the alarm!

Come grab hold of His mighty arm.

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Fabulous poems! I think you will like one of my poet friends here on HubPages: CJ Beige (John Cleveland), a trucker, as he writes some similar poetry and has a strong faith in Jesus too. Check him out and maybe partner up with him for some poetry. That would be so cool!

All Things New

Upon this throne of power I sit,

Waiting for you to simply admit,

That you are sinful and full of shame,

Tell me now, "Do you know my name?"

I am the one who died on the tree,

So sight will come, to those who can't see.

Old things are gone, as I make things new,

I am faithful, I am also true,

I died for all, "Oh yes! I died for you."

Why do you always feel so blue?

Let joy enter and happiness come

Until we finally become as one.

Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Grace

Thrusting through blackness

Reaching for the light,

Satan's against me

I keep up the fight.

Knowing You are there

Keeps me cruising strong,

Warring with Satan

Whose time isn't long,

Leniency shown in

Everything You do,

Grace is adequate

Because it's from You.

Able to forgive

Our abundant sins,

Bring us righteousness

Not to sin again

Love is what You give

To those who receive.

Watch out for Satan

He'll always deceive,

Setting traps and snares

For each child of God,

Trying to trip us

Yea, he likes to prod

Knowing we merit

Death, hell, and the grave,

Jesus gave it all

So we can be saved

He died on the cross

Alone and in pain,

My sins cast away

I'm no longer stained.

Eph 2:8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God,

Eph 2:9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

The Greatest Memory

If there's one memory I don't want to lose

It's the memory of the time that I met you

That day will forever remain in my head

It's the day I came to life. . . no longer dead

I recall that day as I lie on my bed

A sweet peace comes over me I no longer dread

Living my life in my sins and my shame

Now I know life is not a game!

My life before was full of disgrace

Now I have joined in that Heavenly race

No longer afraid of evil and death

I know I need only to do my best

From now until the time you come again

I'll keep myself clean from the stench of sin

To be ready and waiting for you to appear

Is what I'll be doing. . . with my time here.

Song of Solomon 1:4 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.
