Poetry: Demons and Angels
55The demons crawl
from in my closet;
self-sabotage.
Unconscious, subconscious.
It's out to drag me away.
I don't want that.
I'll fight for her.
I won't let my
insecurities cost
me everything,
a second time.
I want this.
This perfect, graceful,
free woman to be here,
with me. My life
is not mine, I gave
the heart to her
long ago.
Angels fly above the car,
passing through streetlights.
I can hear the whisper,
“I love you.”

I never thought I would find one I loved as much as the ones you wrote for me way back when. Who knew something so great could come from this mornings words. I love you.
