Poetry by J.S. Allen, OCEAN GRACE
49OCEAN GRACE
How like the errant sea you are.
Sometimes close,
Sometimes far.
You leave me shells
To listen to
Your nearness roar,
And I remember.
I have yet
To learn the moon
That moves you,
Shining so bright
Among the stellar stars
When storms
No longer part us.
Here I stand
On this incessant
Strand of sand
Waiting for your tide
To take my hand
And pull me
Back to you.
I cannot help myself.
I love the sea,
Where the scale tailed
Siren sings to me;
Where sailors weep,
To plumb the deep
Of ocean
Mystery.

This is a nice poem, I used to write poetry a long time ago. I don't know why I stopped.
Thank you Michelle!! The poetry by J.S. Allen is amazing!! Yesterday was his 3rd 25th Birthday and I am working diligently to publish over 500 of his incredible poems written over his facinating lifetime!! Please do not stop writing poetry!! I, too stopped and can't remember why??!! But meeting J.S. Allen almost seven years ago has made me take pen to paper again!! Pleeeeeeeeeeeese do not stop writing poetry!! In the US it is considered the lowest medium of writing, yet in other countries, poets are venerated more than their leaders!! I will pass your compliments on to him; he will LOVE hearing someone likes what he writes!! Blessings on your day!! Earth Angel!!
I too cannot stop writing poetry! It is all that I am. And so I seek the poetry of others in the clouds of the sky, in the shadow lands or in the burning glare of raw lights. Anywhere is somewhere for poetry.
Lovely sensitivities in this poem!
