Poetry: He Who Would Be King
43Sonnet
This is an English Sonnet. It is written in Iambic Pentameter.
He Who Would Be King
She wept as silent silver raindrops fell
The velvet corset taut upon her breast
Her dark locks clung against her skin so pale
With choking sobs she tried to catch her breath
She cringed to see his wicked greedy smile
He pushed her off the bridge to let her drown
She tumbled down and down for quite awhile
And by so doing he secured the crown
Then with a pompous flourish he did ride
Back through the windswept storm into the keep
Rushed madly to the castle for his bride
When a bolt of lightning caused his mount to leap
He split his head upon the cobbled road
And ne'er arrived at his splendid abode
Ring

Iambic Pentameter is addicting, and would you believe I actually have a dried blowfish I found on a curb?

I don't think anyone but me knows this, but this poem and YOU, you were one of the first drops of the iambic pentameter that became the first of many unusal iambic pentameters of it's time which is now... blowfish day. :)
I am linking to this wonderful poem in my Happy Blowfish Day hub and hope everyone comes back to look at it. It's lovely.
