Poison Ivy
56HELP! I need tips, clues, ideas and remedies. I get poison Ivy every year, from the time I was 10 or so. I kind of know what it looks like now, but when there are no leaves, it gets tricky.
This is a disgusting poison that seeps yellow, itches and burns. I was lucky this year because it didn't get in my eyes; close, but no. My face is swollen as well. I'm sleeping on towels, changing my shirt several times a day because of seepage, and trying not to scratch. It's hard when I fall asleep because I scratch involuntarily.
I picked up some medication to wash with, and some lotion with oatmeal. Last year I had to bathe in the oatmeal solution. You'd think you'd get used to it, but you never do. I really should get another job toward spring just to pay someone to come in and do the yard work. I think that'll be my plan next year. It'll be great not to get poison.
How many of us get this regularly? You'd think we'd become immune over time.
