Betrayal of Public Trust

Betrayal of Public Trust

Teen pummled by police officer

HOW DO WE STOP Police brutality? King County Sheriff Caught Beating 15-Year Old In A Holding Cell♥♥♥♥♥♥ view video ♥♥♥♥♥♥— I was experimenting on my new editor how to do titles and improve poor video footage for my peace show "Diggers Story WoP (World of Peace) and came across this video footage. It moved me so much I used this public document to learn and get out to the public. I found it interesting how difficult it was to get photos of the offending officers. This is not the first offence for officer Schene so the arrogance of this brutal act could be one of the reasons he broke the law knowing hsi actions were all caught on tape.

This video shows a King's peace officer pummeling a 15-year-old girl in a holding cell that was released last Friday over the strenuous objections of the officer's attorney for fear of public outrage, lessening the officer's chance of a fair trial.

The detective who reviewed the video said it appeared Schene and Brunner had the girl under control when Schene struck her. Schene, who is 6 feet 2 and weighs 195 pounds reported the girl hurt his shin tossing off her shoe after he requested she take them off.

I could not find any photos on this police officer just video footage of this incident Full length video: http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/seattle911/archives/163025.asp?source=mypi

Schene could face up to a year in jail if convicted.

But there is more. Shortly after the shooting while on administrative leave officer Schene was stopped for driving under the influence.

Before the assualt on the teen he was in the news in 2006 for fatally shooting a mentally ill man on a traffic stop.

Schene is the second officer from the precinct in three months to face charges. In addition, a third deputy, Brian Bonnar, was acquitted

I don't understand this behavior and wonder if video be enough to stop these kinds of brutal attacks against citizens. Officer Schene would not want this kind of treatment when he gets in trouble.

Watch the interview of the young teen speak out here

Many brutal attacks never go to trial or the officers get off only to continue to break the law burdening the court system, tarnishing the good names of police officers and costing 100s of thousand of court expense.

Is public outrage enough? Is video enough? What will make bad cops realize they are not above the law? What is your opinion?

I hope this will help in some small way. Speak out to injustice for without justice there can be little peace in our world Increase the Peace and AmAzE yOUR world.

Speak out to the unjust. No one is above the law.
Speak out to the unjust. No one is above the law.

Police brutality is a serious problem across the United States. For example in Illinois, according to Chicago civil right lawyers there were more than 10,000 complaints filed against police officers between 2002 and 2004. However of the said cases of complaints, only 18 led to meaningful disciplinary actions.
