Police Brutality in Chicago City
65Chicago in Focus
Police brutality is a serious issue across the United States, especially in ChicagoCity. According to Chicago civil right lawyers , there were more than 10,000 complaints made against police officers from 2002 to 2004.Only 18 of these complaints, however, resulted in important disciplinary actions.
Police brutality has really become a pressing issue across Illinois. In the report prepared by the University of Chicago entitled "The Chicago Police Department's Broken System", the Chicago police officers received more complaints involving police brutality than police officers in other cities of the United States.
Police brutality issue involving Chicago police officers has also put the city in bad limelight as the Amnesty International, an organization devoted to protecting human rights worldwide, used this issue to discredit the city as a potential host of the prestigious 2016 Summer Olympic Games. The high incidence of police brutality has reflected too badly on ChicagoCity.
In the light of this issue, the Chicago civil right lawyers of Dolan Law Offices tell the people of Chicago City that if they have been victims of police brutality, they should stand up for their rights against these abusive police officers. This is a good way to possibly end police brutality in this city.

Police: Grandmother Arrested At McDonald's Drive-Thru For Not Pulling Car Forward - Orlando News Story - WKMG Orlando (http://www.local6.com/news/15098343/detail.html)
Standing between a cop and his Big Mac can get you arrested.
CLEARWATER, Fla. -- A 75-year-old woman was arrested at a Clearwater McDonald's drive-thru, because police say she wouldn't pull her car forward.
Authorities said Jean Merola, a grandmother of eight, was arrested for disorderly conduct after she refused an officer's orders to move her car while she waited for the coffee and fries she ordered at the drive-through window.
Merola said the McDonald's employees told her to wait there for her food.
Merola was handcuffed behind her back and put in the cruiser.
Another officer arrived and took her to the Pinellas County Jail .
Merola said she was searched, photographed and fingerprinted.
Jail records show she was released about 90 minutes later on her own recognizance.
THAT is police harassment.
Yes pal. Police brutality is really a serious issue in Chicago today. There are also reports that police officers commit harassment against pregnant women and disabled persons. What a shame!
Is it OK for an officer to lie to get a criminal off the street?
if this problem exist long before, what are the governments action about this? are we going to just look at this and tolerate this unprofessional and brutal cops? i suggest the people involve in this kind of brutality should seek help from Chicago civil right lawyers and file a case against them. know your right, stop being always a victim. let's give them a break inside the JAIL
there is only one thing that can solve this existing problem in Chicago and this is to be vigilant in every way. perhaps it would be much better if this brutal activities of CHicago cop will be recorded and to be submitted it to higher in rank...
Nice discussion Mr. Jones! Police authorities in Chicago has a bad reputation.
Thanks for all the feedback! Rest assured that I will write more on this topic in the coming days.
There is also another story posted by someone from Illinois. You might want to corroborate your story with his. See this link:
Mr. Jones, I also hear stories of police abuse of children in Chicago. How nasty these cops!
Of course not! We are doing our best to discipline our policemen in the light of this issue.
I really hate Chicago police officers. They have this nasty habit of arresting you for over speed driving even though you are on the right speed!
