A fun Polka Dot partyware design was released a few months ago. The minute I saw it I knew I had to write up a party page for it. So, here it is!

A Polka Dot party would be perfect for girls of all ages-from a 1st birthday all the way to a Sweet 16.  This theme also works wonderfully for a baby shower or bridal shower.  Polka dots are just so much fun that they will easily make any birthday party a success.

There are many different Polka Dot color combinations out there, therefore, I searched the Internet to find as many Polka Dot party items I could find that would coordinate with this partyware pattern. I think I did a pretty good job if I do say so myself.

The first Polka Dot invitation idea is the personalized invite that you can purchase along with the Bright Dots Party Pack. This invitation is great and will coordinate with your entire party decor. You can also purchase a matching thank you card.

The other two Polka Dot invitations are from the Invitation Box. Both of these invitations can also be personalized and have a funky Polka Dot design. One of the invitations is specifically for a Sweet Sixteen birthday party.

Lastly, there is a funky Polka Dot invite available on Ebay. This invitation features many of the colors in the partyware such as purple, blue, hot pink and green and is also designed for a Sweet Sixteen party.

A Polka Dot birthday cake is very simple to make at home. Simply bake a 9" X 13" cake, round cake, tiered cake, or whatever size you would like. Then, cover the cake in white icing or white fondant. Once completely covered, using assorted round fondant cutters cut the dots out of colored fondant. Randomly place the dots all over the cake. Giant Cupcake Cakes are the latest trend in birthday cakes. You will see a photo of one in the Polka Dot cakes in the photo gallery below. These giant cupcake cakes are very simple to make. You just need to bake the cake in a Wilton Giant Cupcake Pan. Then, you can top the finished cake with colorful fondant dots.

Another Polka Dot Cake idea would be to apply an edible image to your tiered cake. These designer prints are offered by Lucks and there is a 'Happy Dots' design which would coordinate wonderfully with your Polka Dot party. These cake decorating strips are a fun and easy way to decorate buttercream, fondant, gum paste, chocolate, whipped toppings, fudge and ice cream cakes.

If you are making Polka Dot cupcakes, you could also top these with fondant circles or round confetti sprinkles.

Colorful Dots Pinata
This colorful 20" birthday cake pinata features funky polka dots and would make a beautiful decoration on your table or to hang from the ceiling before being used for the pinata activity.

Customize Your Own Pinata

These brilliant peel-and-stick wall decorations include 80 multi-colored dots in varying sizes. They would make a perfect party decoration for your Polka Dot party. After the party, your daughter can decorate her bedroom with these fun decals.

There are many fun party favor ideas that you can incorporate into your Polka Dot party.

Bottle caps are the latest trend. There is a Candy Dots custom bottle cap necklace available that would be perfect for your daughter's Polka Dot birthday party. Your daughter can wear this funky necklace on her party day or you could hand these out as party favors. Bottle cap necklaces make wonderful standalone favors. Simply purchase an inexpensive jewelry pouch for the necklace and they are all set to hand out to the party guests. You could add a few pieces of small candies in the bag if you want as well.

Another idea would be to make the bottle cap necklaces. You could purchase just the bottle cap and make the necklace yourself. This would also make a fun party activity for older girls.
