Who Has Pomeranian Puppies?

A dog can be a wonderful companion for any type of family, and a Pomeranian puppy can work well in a number of different environments. If you are considering the addition of a Pomeranian to your family, you might be wondering where you can find Pomeranian puppies for sale. Like other breeds, there is some caution that should be exercised when shopping for your Pomeranian puppy. Not everyone who calls himself a breeder is a responsible one, and not everyone who says they work with breeders does so in a responsible way.

Therefore, if you want to ensure that you end up with a Pomeranian pup that is healthy and friendly, you will not want to head to the first pet store with a sign reading Pomeranian puppies for sale. Instead, you should do your homework to make sure that the person who sells you your Pomeranian is a responsible, reputable breeder whose main interest is to find his well-bred pups the best homes possible. This will tell you that the dog you are receiving will indeed be the best fit for your family.

There are many folks who might offer Pomeranian puppies for sale. The first is your neighborhood pet store. This seemingly harmless shop may be your least attractive choice. Dogs in pet stores do not come from reputable breeders. Instead, the dogs offered in your pet store window were probably bred in puppy mills, where breeding is a matter of producing a high volume of animals with the intention of turning as large of a profit as possible. Dogs produced through this method will often be sick, inherit genetic medical issues, and have poor temperaments.

On the other hand, a reputable breeder will breed his dogs carefully to prevent genetic illnesses and provide the most attractive animals. A responsible breeder will make sure that all of his precious pups go to good homes, and will require that dogs are returned to him at any point in the dog's life if the owners can no longer care for it. Good breeders will not produce as many dogs as they can to earn the most money. In fact, many breeders keep waiting lists of prospective owners for future litters.

Finding a reputable breeder is the first step in finding Pomeranian puppies for sale. You can find reputable Pomeranian breeders by checking out the dog shows in your community, inquiring at breed clubs or asking your veterinarian. You can also find breeders through the American Kennel Club, and with any luck, they might have a Pomeranian breeder in your area. Many breeders also advertise their dogs on the Internet, and this can be a good choice if you can't find any reputable breeders in your own community. However, purchasing a dog over the Internet can be a risky venture, and you will need to ask for plenty of documentation before sending any money to the breeder.

By taking your time to select a good breeder who practices responsible breeding procedures, you can rest assured that the Pomeranian puppies for sale from this person will be healthy, friendly and well bred. There are plenty of good reasons to find a reputable Pomeranian breeder, and lots of ways to locate them. Take your time searching until you find the best puppy for your family. You will be rewarded with many years of companionship from your special pet.

A good knowledge of Pomeranian puppies can help you to find the best dog for your family. The first step in Pomeranian puppy care is to find a reputable breeder that can provide you with a healthy, well socialized dog that will bring your family years of entertainment and companionship.

Taking Care Of Pomeranian Puppies

It is important to take your time when choosing a breed of dog for a pet. Pomeranian puppies for instance are very adorable but there are also many concerns surrounding the breed. One of the most noticeable and loved features of Pomeranian puppies is their coat. It is a long double coat that requires brushing at least once weekly to keep it from getting dirty and tangled.

In terms of character, these dogs are very compact and active, and love to learn. They are energetic and incredibly vivacious, and also loyal to their family. In spite of their small stature they actually make great watchdogs, as they have excellent hearing and will bark loudly whenever they hear noise, which is especially useful at nighttime. In regards to the care and maintenance of these dogs, besides grooming you also need to make sure that they receive excellent dental care as well.

If you have decided that Pomeranian puppies are the right choice for you, the next step is going to be to find a Pomeranian puppy for sale. This can often be more difficult than it may seem at first, especially if you are looking for a purebred Pomeranian. If this is the case then you will almost always have to go through a breeder, and expect to pay a lot more for a purebred dog as well.

If you are looking for a Pomeranian puppies for sale from a reputable breeder then make sure you understand as much as possible about the breed first. You will also want to make sure that you ask a breeder certain questions before doing business with them, such as how often they breed, how long they have been doing it for, and how much they charge per puppy. Remember that there are certain breeders out there, better known as mass breeders, who are more concerned with the financial aspects of breeding and not so much about the health and wellbeing of their dogs.

It is important to weigh both the benefits and concerns involved with owning Pomeranian puppies, and use this to make the most intelligent decision. Pomeranians are lovable and affectionate and make great pets but they are also often very noisy and hard to housebreak. You really need to have patience with a Pomeranian dog, and remember that it is always better to choose a Pomeranian puppy for sale than an adult Pomeranian for free.

This is because you are starting off fresh with a puppy and when you acquire a puppy you are really acquiring potential, what he will one day be. Typical breed characteristics are very important here and it is important to find out as much as you can about a dog and their parents’ histories before buying them. This will help by giving you a better idea of the dog and their upbringing and therefore their personality and development as well. Just make sure you are ready for the dog before getting it.

You can find Pomeranian puppies through exclusive breeders and through pet stores, just remember that the price varies quite significantly between the two. There are a few Pomeranian puppy supplies you will need to get before you are ready to take your pet home, such as a leash, food, and some toys for them to play with and help keep them active.

You And Your Pomeranian Puppy

The American Kennel Club classifies the Pomeranian as a member of both the toy and Spitz groups. This breed is considered a toy because adult Pomeranians grow to a size of only three to seven pounds and eight to eleven inches tall. Pomeranians are considered a member of the Spitz group because of their ancestry. These toy dogs are descended from large sledding dogs found around the Baltic Sea, particularly in Iceland. Many of these sledding dogs are inter-related and belong to the generalized Spitz group. In the late 1800s, it became popular to breed specific types of Spitz to be smaller. The Pomeranian, for example, is a toy version of the much larger German Spitz.

A Pomeranian puppy has some of the traits of its ancestors including the thick, double-layered fur coat and muscular, compact body frame. This toy dog is much more delicate and doll-like in its facial features and even in the way it walks. Most Pomeranians look more like miniature foxes than the more wolf-like sled dogs from which they descend.

There are many reputable breeders of toy dogs such as the Pomeranian. These breeders can assist a potential Pomeranian buyer in finding a purebred Pomeranian puppy and in learning how to care for it. Pomeranian breeders should sell American Kennel Club (AKC) certified puppies and should be able to provide registration papers and/or pedigrees. They should also provide the owner with health and immunization information and offer a warranty on the Pomeranian puppy's health. It is important to note that a purebred dog of any breed should only be bought from a certified breeder or rescue center that specializes in that breed. Pet stores and pet brokers do not care about the puppies they sell. A good breeder will provide a questionnaire for the buyer to fill out and may reject someone if that person or household is deemed inappropriate.

A breeder should be able to assist a buyer in choosing a name for a Pomeranian puppy. Some of the show names versus real names of previous winners from the Pomeranian breed include Kalo's Rock and Music City (aka Nash), JJ's Victorian Angel (aka Spirit) and Wee Hearts Excuse Me (aka Mimi).

After a buyer has become an owner of a Pomeranian puppy, the first important task is to find a good name. There are many websites and books that give tips on finding Pomeranian puppy names. Owners may also want to name puppies to reflect their lineage. Since Pomeranians are Nordic in ancestry, a strong Germanic name is one option. Bjorn and Eirik ("the Red" for a sable Pomeranian) are two examples. Queen Victoria of England named her Pomeranian "Marco". Italian names are worthy of the beauty and grace of the Pomeranian. Italian names for a female Pomeranian puppy include Constanza and Alessandra. Male names include Firenze and Armando. Buyers may want to stick to more popular names. For females, Maggie and Lady are in the top ten. For male dogs, popular names include Max and Buddy.

Of course, dogs that will be registered for competition need "show names". These are usually several words in length and much more professional sounding than Buddy or Lady (though the Best in Show's aka is probably Max or Mimi). Examples of real competition Pomeranian names are "Southland's Black Tie N Tails" and "Dimonde Flynn's Cover Girl".

Pomeranian puppies are members of the toy, or small dog group. Pomeranians may be given more than one name if they are used for show. Tips on buying a Pomeranian puppy and how to choose Pomeranian puppy names can be found in this article.

Choosing Perfect Pomeranian Puppies

Pomeranian puppies are beautiful examples of toy dogs. Their fox-like faces, alert dark eyes, luxurious double coats of fur, and thick, furry tails are just a few of their attractive features. Pomeranians are considered toy dogs because they only reach an adult size of three to seven pounds and a height of eight to eleven inches. The American Kennel Club classifies the Pomeranian as a member of both the toy and Spitz groups. The term "toy" refers to their diminutive size. The Spitz group includes the Pomeranian and all other breeds descended from an area south of the Baltic Sea in what is today Poland and Germany. Sledding dogs from this region are ancestors of breeds such as the Chow Chow, Samoyed, German Spitz and Pomeranian.

In the 1800s, it became the fashion of British royals to breed dogs down to a more manageable size. Specific types of Spitz were bred to be smaller versions that could act as household pets. The Pomeranian, for example, is a toy version of the much larger German Spitz.

The Pomeranian personality is often described as excitable and high maintenance. It is very important that Pomeranian puppies receive discipline and training from an early age due to their inherent willfulness and tendency to bark excessively. Pomeranians are also known to be affectionate, intelligent, curious and full of energy. They are extroverts and it is important for a potential buyer to understand that.

Pomeranian breeders are an excellent source of information on this breed. Potential buyers should feel free to ask questions about how to care for their Pomeranians. Buyers should be informed of the positive traits of the Pomeranian and the potential health risks inherent to this breed. All puppies should be evaluated before purchase. Pomeranians suffer from dental problems, heart problems and knee dislocations to name a few medical conditions. Any pre-existing medical conditions must be disclosed to a buyer. The best breeders will allow buyers to visit the kennels where Pomeranian puppies are whelped so they can see the conditions in which the puppies have been raised.

So how does a buyer figure out how to choose the right Pomeranian? All Pomeranian puppies have the cuteness factor, but aside from physical appearance, there are a number of other ways to decide on a Pomeranian. First, research the breed. A buyer must make sure this breed fits his or her lifestyle before buying. Second, research the breeder. There are many illicit breeders who sell Pomeranian puppies out of what are called puppy mills. These breeders ceaselessly breed the parents without providing socialization or any semblance of a happy life. The puppies of these maltreated parents end up in pet stores or being sold on the Internet through brokers. The parents end up being destroyed. The only places to buy Pomeranian puppies are from certified, ethical breeders or rescue centers which house purebred dogs of specific breeds.

Third, know how to care for the Pomeranian. Good potential owners buy everything they need in advance to help the new member of the family feel comfortable. Fourth and finally, choosing the right Pomeranian may not be entirely up to the buyer. Reputable breeders interview and reject buyers they deem are not a good match for the Pomeranian they have chosen.

Choosing Pomeranian puppies can be easy if the buyer researches the characteristics and history of the Pomeranian breed. This article will provide information about how to choose the right Pomeranian puppy. It also references the history of Pomeranian puppies.

Pomeranian Puppy Care

Raising Pomeranian puppies can be an enjoyable and rewarding experience for dog owners and dog breeders. The Pomeranian is part of the toy group of dogs and is classified as such due to its diminutive size. Pomeranians may have small bodies but they also have big, vibrant personalities. Before choosing to raise a Pomeranian pup, a potential owner should research the history of the Pomeranian, breed characteristics, and how to properly care for Pomeranian puppies and adults.

The history of the Pomeranian actually begins in Lapland and Finland. Large sledding dogs from these regions were brought to Germany and Poland and bred down to a smaller size. The area of Germany and Poland, once known as Pomerania, is where the Pomeranian breed gets its moniker. Queen Victoria of England continued the downsizing of the breed in the late 1800s. Her beloved Pomeranian, Marco, and her active breeding and showing of Pomeranians, made the breed fashionable as a household pet.

Training should capture the Pomeranian pup's attention. Pomeranians are very intelligent and trainable once owners engage them. Pomeranian puppies have a tendency to bark and get underfoot. These are the first behavioral traits that they should be trained against for the well being of both the owner and puppy.

The grooming needs of Pomeranians are also moderate to high maintenance. These tiny dogs appear to be more fur than body due to the fact that they have two layers of fur, a soft undercoat and a longer overcoat. The coat requires daily brushing to prevent mats and tangles and to maintain the overall beauty of the Pomeranian pup. Pomeranians resemble baby foxes. They have doll-like faces, dark noses and eyes, and small teeth. The breed suffers from dental problems so daily brushing of teeth is also a grooming requirement. Attention should be paid closely to the Pomeranian pup when around small children as it will snap if its tail is pulled or it is held too tightly. Adult Pomeranians grow to be only three to seven pounds and eight to eleven inches tall and they can be hurt easily if tripped over or dropped.

Raising and training a Pomeranian pup can seem daunting at first and buyers should actively ask questions of the breeder they have purchased from. Good breeders are more than happy to provide Pomeranian puppy care tips and have already begun the process of training while each pup resides in their home and/or kennel.

Tips the potential Pomeranian puppy buyer should follow when before purchasing include the researching the breed history and characteristics, making sure the buyer household will match the Pomeranian's needs, reading up on Pomeranian puppy care and knowing how to provide positive training and discipline. Other tips include researching breeders before choosing one to buy from, researching breed-specific rescue centers and consider them when buying a Pomeranian and being prepared to make a long-term commitment of up to 20 years.

Following these tips will ensure that the Pomeranian pup will be matched with a good home. Buyers and breeders of Pomeranians should love the breed. This is the most important aspect of dog ownership.

Pomeranian puppies are descended from the larger Spitz group of dogs. There are many elements of Pomeranian puppy care. This article will provide information about Pomeranian pups and Pomeranian puppy care.

Rosie, I just put a slideshow up on a hub page about our 2 pomeranians - but after seeing your picture(s) I suspect our 2 are crossed with something else. Larger, long nose and not exactly a Toy. Can you please investigate? Thanks. I'd appreciate it. Geoff D.

Please excuse the link. It's the fastest way for you to arrive at the slideshow - where incidentally, you'll probably have a good giggle at their pictured behaviors. So loyal and adorable..
