Spray adhesive glue is the best type of glue for doing this because it will go on even and hold more securely.

Wait a few seconds for your spray on glue to become sticky then press your felt down over top the slate. When you get your felt laid down smooth it out so that you know that the glue is attached good to the felt. Other things you will need to do when repairing pool table felt is to cut out pockets. Make your cuts for the corner and middle pockets. These cuts should be back from the edge of the wood to make sure they are back away from the game playing surface. Fix the excess fabric up underneath the table with more staples or glue. This whole process of repairing the felt on your pool table is easy and inexpensive to do.
