Posh Restaurants In Newquay

Posh Restaurants in Newquay have increased significantly over recent years. In fact just 5 years ago, to dine out in a posh restaurant would mean going to one of the leading hotels.

But times have changed - and Newquay has gone up market, with a constant influx of wealthier people who expect posh restaurants.

The New Harbour Restaurant in Newquay

... is not known by many people. For this reason probably it has already changed hands once in its ownership. I notice now that there is a banner flying over it saying "New Harbour Restaurant" as before you could be in the Harbour and have no idea what the shack on the beach was even.

Situated right on Newquay Harbour beach itself, the high tide will come right up to the New Harbour Restaurant wall. Access to the New Harbour Restaurant is not affected by the tide times though as there are steps down to it from half way down the harbour access road.

The New Harbour Restaurant is the location of one of the Newquay webcams.

Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Restaurant, Newquay

Obviously, of all the posh restaurants in Newquay, the poshest has to be Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Restaurant. You would need to book early to get a seat here if you are wanting to eat out during popular times of the year.

Fifteen is located on Watergate Bay - 4 miles round the bay from Newquay Town itself, so you will need transport to get there. It is only walkable if you fancy a long hike along narrow Cornish lanes without pavements nor lighting. And the final descent (or ascent on a full stomach!) is probably close to a 1-in-4 gradient.

You will get uninterrupted beach views and sea views from Fifteen though as it is built at the edge of Watergate Bay.

Fistral Blu Restaurant, Fistral Beach, Newquay

FistralBlu is located on the first floor inside the Fistral Surfing Centre on Fistral Beach Newquay.

Just a half mile stroll from the town centre, the Newquay Surfing Centre was built in 2003 and FistralBlu has a panoramic view over Fistral Beach/Fistral Bay. Great if you are eating and want the view, but personally I'd wonder if I'd be stuck at the back, craning over other diners to get a glimpse, or, probably worse, feeling the eyes of the room looking in my direction as I ate as the other diners were trying to gain their sea views around me.

Food and service at FistralBlu are top quality though, so if you want a beachside dining experience, or to be seen in the right places, then head for FistralBlu.

Windswept Cafe, Fistral Beach, Newquay

Not many people know about the Windswept Cafe as it's perched at the westerly end of Fistral Beach and you could even walk past it and not realise it's there!  If you're on Pentire and coming down the steps to the beach, you might not look up and see the Windswept Cafe ... you might just be missing out on some super food, with full sea views.

The 10th of every month is Pudding Night at the Windswept Cafe, this is one main course, followed by FOUR puddings. Yes, FOUR .... oh the bliss.

If you're a surfer, then why not use their Key Holding service.  For just £1 they'll look after your car keys while you're out in the swell - when you go to collect your keys you can get a £1 discount on a hot drink, or if you're in a rush, take a bar of chocolate away with you.

It's a great spot to try out, quirky, unusual, unexpected... treat somebody next time you're in Newquay.
