A Billion People Are Almost Dead of Poverty
54and 8 million die a year from it.
Nonprofit work is brutal. Why is that? These are our brightest and finest. Society owes these charity workers so much, but they pay them so very, very little.75% of all Executive Directors of American Nonprofits do not want their job. Worse yet, 85% of all nonprofit organizations do not make it to their first five year certification with the iIRS. They have already folded.
So why is this, you ask? Well, it is so simple that is is scary that it is not common knowledge of us all. Business operates by charging its customers for its products and services. Well, nonprofits have to PAY THEIR customers, the poor and needy.
OK, so how can that work? Well, it is also very simple, you and I have to reach into our pockets and pay the nonprofits. Maybe you are like me. I used to just think that the government or the churches paid the nonprofits. That is just because I never thought about it very hard, and no one told me differently. So, I paid my church tithe and assumed that Jesus' work was being done.
You see, I did know that Jesus came here and really helped the poor. Those were the miracles. Why did God become man to do that? Well, I believe that He was so compelled by the plight of the needy that He could not do otherwise. I also believe He wanted us to do the same thing.
OK, now you know where I am coming from. Well, I cannot quit now. Sure, I am like many other nonprofits that are struggling along, but I have the answer. It is a long one, but I will be chiming in on it, and I hope you follow along with me if you are concerned with the injustice of our society.
Well, that is my opening letter to you. If you want more information right away on this, just stop by and say "hi" at http://itmh.org. That's all for now. GBY

Wow, that is really a nice thing to do. Thank you very much. I never thought to do that, but I will now start clicking others, too.
Campus Crusade and the Red Cross are just terrific organizations. We dream of helping so many, too. Not only are the disasters coming more frequently, but the slowdown in the economy falls hard on nonprofits. Sadly, this looks like a worse year than average for charities.
Thanks again!

VP-
I have supported Campus Crusade for Christ for 25 years - it is an organization based on college campuses teaching young adults to be disciples of Christ - We also donate to the Red Cross - they are running "in the red" (no pun intended) due to all of the disasters in the US, and have asked the Federal Government for a large sum of $$ to help.
