Power of Our Thoughts - Captured by Photographs in Masuro Emoto's "Message from Water"

Crystal of water that has been exposed to the word "hope"

Some may have heard recently through the popular book and DVD "The Secret", and others for decades, that our thoughts have vibrations and influences our life experience. Think negative and most likely we will attract negative experiences; think and repeat positive affirmations and the odds are better. Of course in a world where duality exists, we do experience both ends of the polarity for our human learning, but being aware that everything in this universe is composed of vibration, including your body and thoughts, gives one the awareness that we also need to be responsible for our inner world: the thoughts, feelings that we harbor within.

One area that "The Secret" left out was that if we are not aware of what is going on inside of us, acknowledge it, work on it, heal and release it, we will continue to create many of our life experiences unconsciously, directed by our inner feelings. How often has a man or woman failed financially, because each time they are close to financial freedom, something is done to sabotage themselves, but have no clue as to why they are doing this?

Deepak Chopra, M.D., an oncologist who has become an authority in the spiritual and wellness field, once wrote, that if we want to see what is going on within us, we need to just take a look at our world around us; our relationships, health, finances, home, environment and more. He was speaking of how our inner world is a mirror and reflects as the world outside of us. While affirmations and positive thinking are pointers in the right direction, repeating "I am loved" "I am rich" is not sufficient to create the life we may want. We need to address the demons within, which often places limits in our lives.

One example, years ago, I was alone and wanted to attract a mate, so I made up an affirmation "I attract the perfect man into my life" and I did! But here is the catch; the "perfect" man was one who reflected what I felt about myself within, not very good at the time. He was a verbally abusive man, an experience I never encountered before in a relationship. So, in essence, he became my perfect teacher in learning to love myself (as well as learning a few unpronounceable profanities!). Once I had an "aha" moment that I did not need to continue belittling myself, and acknowledged I deserved better, the relationship ended after 7 years. Alone, and much wiser, I decided I wanted to stay single, but added quickly, (guess a little part of me wanted to leave the doors open), IF I am ever to have a companion again, I want him to be my age (the ex was much older than me) and for him to be spiritual, kind, and a true soulmate. Within 2 months, I met my in one of my spiritual hangouts, and  who was born in the same year I was, but I was not interested in meeting anyone. I attracted someone who reflected what I feel about myself nowadays: a woman worthy of having a loving, healthy, supportive union, free of ego drama, and one that would not suppress my spirit. This is exactly how I live my life with my mate nowadays; one of peace, true friendship where we both explore God, the world of Spirit and express our creativity and business interests.

Still skeptical? That thoughts and our inner world influences your life experience and the world in around us? Let's take a quick look at the amazing and beautiful work of Dr. Masuro Emoto, a Japanese researcher who has taken photographs of the crystals of water which are frozen after taping different words to a bottle containing the water. Words like "love" produced beautiful crystals, while words like "hate" gave a different result, even when the word was in a different language.

He believes as quoted from Wellness.com "Water has a very important message for us. Water is telling us to take a much deeper look at our selves. When we do look at our selves through the mirror of water, the message becomes amazingly, crystal, clear. We know that human life is directly connected to the quality of our water, both within and all around us".

Use positive thinking, affirmations, but increase your awareness and the universe will work in concert with you.

Rapidwriter: I am sitting here with a big smile because when I wrote it, I wondered if there are a lot of folks that may not have heard of Masuro Emoto and his work, and its satisfying to bring attention to his work and its implications.  He is a simple man with a passion for his message.  Also, whether one believes or not in his message, his photographs are simply stunning.

You have definitely done me a great service. Everyone who has ventured near my computer this morning has been treated to it, starting with my husband before he went off to our seaside flat to watch the water. People ares tunned, even here, in this department of biosciences where I teach academic writing. Well done. It is a truly inspired and uplifting hub.

Masaru Emoto - This is the first time I have heard of his name + work. I am totally drawn by his ideas. Strangely, I am not really shocked. I live by the bay on a hill. I went through phases in my life, which became urgent as time passed. These phases amounted to a need to live near water. Finally I achieved that, on a mountain, in only a humble rented place, but I am where my soul feels "right".

Your hub has assured me of what I "felt" about water, but had not really expressed in more "realistic" terms.

An absolutely wonderful read! Thank you so much! This has given me an answer I needed to know! I must stay here by water! Not in many years have I written so much. I am sure it is the presence of water nearby!

AuraGem: To think our bodies are over 60 per cent water, imagine how our thoughts and feelings influence us. I thinks its awesome. Your energy makes me smile, really. So glad you could take a confirmation from reading the words of this hub. Blessings to you, and by the way I also love water, feel very relaxed around it.  My mate and I plan when the timing is right, to make a move near the ocean. I know we both will love it.

Dottie: Thanks for stopping by! :)

Violetsun you are one of the few people I have seen that know about Hado. My family are the only one I know of that actually uses the principles. We tape different phrases on our water jug to change the structure of the water. We have been doing this for years now! Try it its fun!

Okay, will try it again! I had tried this experiment at the beginning of the year, while my s/o smiled and teased me. Emoto's work has caught my attention again, and I have a word I will tape to my water, and watch for the results!
