Prague Castle

Prague Castle is a castle in Prague where the Czech kings, Holy Roman Emperors and presidents of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic have had their offices. It is the biggest ancient castle in the world at about 570 meters in length and an average of about 130 meters wide. The Prague Castle buildings represent virtually every architectural style of the last millennium. The history of the castle stretches back to the 9th century, the first walled building was the church of Our Lady.

Prague Astronomical Clock

Prague Astronomical Clock (Prague Orloj) is is a medieval astronomical clock mounted on the southern wall of Old Town City Hall in the Old Town Square and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Prague. It is composed of three main components: the astronomical dial, representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details; "The Walk of the Apostles", a clockwork hourly show of figures of the Apostles and other moving sculptures; and a calendar dial with medallions representing the months.

National Museum

National Museum is a Czech museum institution intended to systematically establish, prepare and publicly exhibit natural scientific and historical collections. It is located on the upper end of Wenceslas Square and was built by prominent Czech neo-renaissance architect Josef Schulz from 1885 - 1891. At present the National Museum houses almost 14 million items from the area of natural history, history, arts, music and librarianship, located in tens of buildings.

Charles Bridge

Charles Bridge is is a famous historical bridge that crosses the Vltava river. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the beginning of 15th century. It was originally called the Stone Bridge (Kamenný most) or the Prague Bridge (Pražský most) but has been the "Charles Bridge" since 1870. The bridge is 516 meters long and nearly 10 meters wide, resting on 16 arches. During the day the Charles Bridge a very busy place, with painters, owners of kiosks and other traders alongside numerous tourists crossing the bridge.

Tyn Cathedral

Tyn Cathedral (The Church of Our Lady in front of Tyn) is a dominant feature of the Old Town district of Prague and the main church of this part of the city since the 14th century. Towers of church are 80 m high and topped by four small spires. In 1876 - 1895 a reconstruction was carried out, which was reversed through a long exterior restoration that took place in the years 1973 - 1995. Afterwards interior restoration began, and is still in progress.
