I choose pray mantis!

If you had asked me yesterday if I could choose to be any animal on the planet.... I would have chosen to be an Ostrich. As far as I knew, these feathered, rather obnoxious birds buried their heads as soon as they felt threatened... thus eliminating the threat (in their minds at least) and living a life of blissful ignorance! I personally can look past the ghastly, most unsexy exterior of these creatures and see the inner beauty that is their obvious intelligence...... *snigger*

I long to be able to plunge my head into the soil at the first sign of danger... or when I feel threatened or insecure....literally blinding myself from the issue as if it’s not there and leaving me hoping the threat doesn’t hit me in the ass.
Imagine my disappointment when I discovered that this somewhat intimidating bird does no such thing.....! My world nearly fell apart when I was informed (by Google who knows everything) that us silly bunch of humans have got it completely wrong!

Google states : “If threatened while sitting on the nest, which is simply a cavity scooped in the earth, the hen presses her long neck flat along the ground, blending with the background. Ostriches, contrary to popular belief, do not bury their heads in the sand.”

This of course renders all reasoning for wanting to be an Ostrich completely ridiculous!

Today, if you asked me if I could choose to be any animal on the planet (as I am now educated), I would have to go with Pray Mantis. What is interesting about these gorgeously green insects is that if you do a little online research... you will discover (disturbingly enough) that they have their very own Karma Sutra!!

Kinky sex is taken to a whole new level when the female sets out to rip off the head of the male during “nookie”. From what I understand... when the male “loses his head” *snigger* he becomes something of a nympho-mantis (yes I made that word up!) and will do nothing else but sexually satisfy his female until the last dregs of Mantis life shudder from his fiendish body! Kind of gives the term “giving head” a whole new meaning, don’t you think?

No need for polite pillow talk, a cigarette or awkward moments for the female Pray Mantis.... They can afford to be promiscuous with no consequences and are always ensured of a tasty yet nutritious meal after every love making session.... no effort required. Wouldn’t you want to be a Pray Mantis? (well a female Pray Mantis at least!)
