In these modern times, time is valuable. We need to choose how we use our time wisely in everything. The prayers we choose will also have an impact on our lives. There are many great prayers but we can only choose the ones necessary for our everyday lives. With the amount of time we have, we select the prayers that we believe will help us the most. Prayers can really help us in spiritual upliftment. It can improve our lives, gives us hope and strengthen us.

There are huge problems in this world that face humanity, where people feel helpless. But helplessness can be transformed by reciting the Human Chalisa. The grinding problem of poverty can make people confused and unable to deal with attacks.  They react in rage because they are misunderstood.

Hanuman Chalisa

One such great prayer for this modern day is the Hanuman Chalisa. It is a Hindu prayer consisting of about 40 verses. Hanuman is the incarnation of Lord Shiva. Reciting the Chalisa is the narration of His devotion to Lord Rama. His role is to help those who love God, to overcome sickness and problems. The more you repeat this prayer, the more it becomes beneficial to you. Every verse is filled with immense strength for spirituality.

Here are a few verses of this prayer with the meaning . This prayer is capable of destroying illness and dispel suffering.

1. Verse: Durgama kaja jagata ka jete, sugama anugraha tumhare tete

Meaning: All the tasks of the world, however difficult, by your favour is rendered easily possible

Saba sukha lahai tumhari sarana, tuma racchaka kahu ko dara na

He who seeks refuge in you enjoys all bliss with you as protector experiences no fear.

Verse: sankata katai mitai saba pira, jo sumirai hanumata balabira

Meaning: If one constantly repeats the valiant Hanuman name, all calamities disappear all sufferings end.

2. Gayatree Mantra is also a Hindu prayer

Prayer: Om Bhoor bhuwah swah, tat savitur varenyam Bhargo devasya dheemahi, Dhiyo yo nah pra-chodayaat

Meaning: God is dear to me like my own breath, He is the Dispeller of my pains, and Giver of happiness. I meditate on the supremely adorable Light of the Divine Creator, that it may inspire my thought and understanding.

3. Prayer: Om Vishhwaani deva savitar duritaani paraa-suva Yad bhadram tan-na aasuva

Meaning: O God! O Creator of this Universe! O Radiant cause of all manifestations. Do remove from us all that is difficult and all tendencies to trangress your laws, and bring unto us all that is beautiful, benevolent and auspicious.

4. Prayer: Om prajaa-pate na twad etaan anyo, vishwaa jaataani pari taa babhoowa Yat kaamaas te juhumaa tan-no astu, vayam syaama patayo rayeenaam.

Meaning: O Prajaapati! Master of this entire creation! NO one can supercede the creatures of this visible and invisible worlds. May those desires, for which we come to Your shelter, be fulfilled.

These prayers can by said like a poem, or sang like a song. There are many other prayers, just as beautiful, to numerous to write all at once. They can help you in every area of your life. Whether it is health, job, finances, family or obstacles.

Other common prayers that are famous are the Lord’s Prayer and Glory be to the Father prayer.

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, to the Holy Spirit

As it was in the beginning, is now and forever

Prayer strengthens the soul emotionally, mentally and spiritually. In modern times, we need prayer that can help us in our lives and keep us close to God. These are some of the best prayers for our day to day lives.
