About Predator

Predator is a fictional extraterrestrial being which makes it way to earth in search of the ultimate prey, humans. It hunts species for sport, almost like trophies which it brutally kills. Predator first appeared in the 1987 movie "Predator" being the main character on the hunt for humans, Major Alan “Dutch” Schaefer, played by Arnold Schwarchenegger is the mercenary sent to battle a being killing people in the jungle, he is not aware that what he is dealing with is a sentinent humanoid that possesses technology such as active camouflage, allowing Predator to blend into almost anythign and become invisible, energy weapons with immense power and also interstallar travel.

Major Alan “Dutch” Schaefer fights against Predator in a battle of skill and cunning as one by one, his devision is picked off, being found mutilated and hung from trees until he is the only man left, culminating in a tense and exciting battle between the two. A cult classic of a film and one of my personal favourites, partly because Arnie is the star and there are some shots that i find quite amusing, like the lingered handshake with his old friend in the control tent with emphasis on his superhuman biceps.

Predator is also known as Yautja and Hish which are sometimes used when talking about it, Predator was created by brothers Jim and John Thomas, they envisaged creating a being rom outer space capable of al of the powers described above. There are a series of sequels in which more of his species join him although the original is my favourite.

Adult Predator Costume

This unique costume is officially licensed by twentieth Century Fox which really shows when you look at the quality of the product, for a studio to put their name to something it has to meet their standards and this is practically a replica of the Predator seen in the film.

For comfort and wearability the Adult Predator Costume is made as an all in one jumpsuit which is constructed from a netting like material in a gunmetal colour which sits over a velour main. To the jumpsuit which covers the whole body the padding is attatched, made from moulded vinyl it gives a soft, almost life-like feel and appearance allowing a variety of textures and an undulated surface to be achieved. The padding covers the chest, shoulders, shins and wrists for a full padded body, getting in and out of the costume isnt has hard as you may think, a velcro back allows you to slip the costume on and off whilst the velour and netting suit keeps you relatively cool.

For shape and a little accessorising the costume comes with two vinyl moulded belts, one which servers a more practical purpose of giving the costume some shape is the main belt, this is worn around the waist and helps to keep the costume in place, it accommodates most waist sizes and it velcro fastened. The second belt is worn a little higher up, just below the chestpiece and has smal attatched skulls which are a nice addition to the costume.

The Predator Mask is most impressive, with incredible detail and continuing the vinyl construction boasts a wealth of colours which are very well applied as this mask is hand painted! The mask covers the frontal area of your head and face and is secured well, there are adequate eye and mouth holes allowing you to see and breath without too much restriction, the great thing about vinyl is that it is malleable so you wont become uncomfortable with scratching and you can also trim the mask, making the eye and mouth holes bigger if you see fit.

Going with the vinyl hand painted mask and detailed body padding is a pair of Predator gloves, claw like and of the same look as the rest of the costume they look fantastic. They slip on like a regular glove but give you hands like Predator! Again, as with the mask they are hand painted and of very high quality, elastic straps hold the gloves in place completing the costume.
