Pregnancy- To Be or Not To Be?
68If You Have to Ask.....
I asked my Mother how I could tell if I was pregnant once. Her answer to me was "if you have to ask, you probably are". What she meant by this were a few things:
1) Most women tend to develop a sixth sense about this. I learned that my mother was right with this when I was pregnant both times. There's just a sense that there is something going on, but you can't put your finger on it.
2) If you're asking the question it means that you must have had sex recently enough, that you could be pregnant.
3) There is something that would cause you to think it. One way or another.
There are of course the good old fashioned ways of doing this- take a pregnancy test. However, do what I did. Buy two of two brands (a lot of times you can get buy one get one free or even a twin pack).
Why do I need so many tests, you ask? Depending on if you are or aren't pregnant- it may be too soon to tell, and some tests are more sensitive than others. Case and point- both of my pregnancies.
My oldest- I was told that I wasn't pregnant (even though I had a positive test)- then after that they told me I had been, but miscarried- three weeks later took another one- I was pregnant and NEVER miscarried. My hormones were out of whack and not cooperating. I also never went to see that doctor again, and learned years later she lost her license (not because of me).
My Youngest- again took a home pregnancy test- came back positive right away. Went to the doctor. He looked at me like I was crazy- there was no way I was pregnant. Went home and took another test, another brand this time. It was positive. Took the same brand again a week later and the first brand right after..... I was very pregnant.
If you've noticed your menstrual cycle is either off, or none existent at all is a good indicator too. I was still menstruating three months after I conceived with both boys. It just happens with some women.
Pay attention to your breast. Are they feeling tired, swollen, and tingly? That’s an indication too. I have some helpful websites I used religiously when I was pregnant.
No matter what you should see a doctor. There could be something else other then Pregnancy going on. There could even be such things as STD's, and other medical conditions that could affect a future pregnancy as well.
Good luck I hope all turns out well.
