Pregnancy Advice

For some women, getting pregnant is like a natural thing; it is like they are made to become a mother and their bodies are all prepped up for pregnancy. On the other hand, approximately 1 out of every 7 couples had difficulty conceiving. If you are one of them, this article is written to provide pregnancy advice, tips on how to get pregnant faster, and why most health pros think that women need to take their time and hurrying up is not healthy at all.

Reasons For Not Being Pregnant

One of the first things that women should think is that they should not blame their bodies if they could not conceive faster than they want, says Dr. Paula Hillard of the Stanford University School of Medicine. One of the most important pregnancy advices that women need to take and understand is that getting pregnant is not something on their hands, they cannot control everything, says Hillard.

Infertility is not only caused by physiological factors. In fact, while most women blame their bodies for not being able to conceive faster, most experts explain that there is a gamut of reasons and factors that may affect one’s reproductive system and ability. Infertility is not something that even experts can easily chart down. In fact, while experts can easily say that there is something wrong, they often have difficulty pin pointing what it is since it is not shown in the radar, says Dr. Staci Pollack, endocrinologist at Montefiore Medical Center.

Pregnancy Advices: What Women Can Do To Get Pregnant Faster

While getting pregnant is not solely dependent on you and your body, it is important that you take on active role in this issue. There are some things that women can do and not do to pump their chances of conceiving, faster than they can think. Here are some expert-approved advices on pregnancy to help you get pregnant.

Eat healthy. While there are a lot of reasons that can point to infertility, most experts believe that having a healthy diet is one of the key ingredients in helping women boost their ovulatory function. Some “fertility foods” that can help increase your conception chances include monounsaturated fats, vegetable protein, loading up on low-glycemic, high fiber foods, and including a moderate portion of high-fat dairy on your diet.

Watch the scale dial. One of the most important pregnancy advices that experts dish out is that weight is a contributing factor in how your reproductive hormones can respond.  One of the most important advices on pregnancy that I relay to women is the important role that their weight plays in their fertility, says Dr. Janet Choi of the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Women who have very high and very low BMI have difficulty getting pregnant since their unhealthy weight disrupts their body’s ovulation. In fact, a study investigating about the role of weight and women’s difficulty conceiving shows that excess weight negatively interferes with fertility even if a woman had reported that she had been ovulating normally.

If you are not ready to get on fertility treatments, the best thing that you can do is to consult your doctor, not visit a fertility clinic. Women hurry getting pregnant after they have spent half of their lives avoiding it. At this moment, it is healthier for women to do a preconception checkup so they can be sure that they are healthy enough to care for their body and baby, says Hillard.
