Pregnancy Protocol Part 2- Happier, Healthier Children
53Essential Oil Pregnancy Protocol
By Dr James Goetz
While my wife was pregnant, each day and each evening I would rub essential oils on her. By doing so many things were accomplished. First and foremost it brought us closer together. She felt loved and special as she would get attention from her husband each day. It bonded myself closer to our child as I would rub my wife’s belly and could feel our little one as the pregnancy matured. One of the most important things was the oils themselves. Keeping the science simple, the oils enhanced the immune system, strengthened areas that needed to be strong and relaxed areas needing to be relaxed.
Below is the exact protocol we used. Our child was born in her 40th week at home with my wife and myself present. Our child has been 2-4 months advanced in everything she does and has been commented on as being the happiest child anyone has ever seen. I am not trying to pat myself on the back but simply stating the protocols in which we did were right for us and our child.
You may wish to experiment and see what works best for you. Remember in whatever you do, always fully educate yourself and know the sources of the education.
The oils we used were Young Living brand and have recently switched to Ancient Wisdom Essential Oils for an array of reasons. If we have another child, the protocol will be the same but the oils will come from Ancient Wisdom Essential Oils. Choose a brand which you like and is 100% pure grade A essential oils.
Morning- Valor, Cypress, Aroma Siez
These are mixed with olive oil and rubbed each morning upon arising (or immediately following a shower first thing) on the tummy, back, hips, legs, and feet
This blend is centering for the body and spirit
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the morning, Gentle Baby is applied to the forehead. This is a very relaxing oil which calms the nerves.
Noon- Brain Power
Rub this on the tummy, behind the ears and on the nape of the neck. This oil helps in rejuvenating your day and helps clear the mind.
Evening- Valor, Cypress, Aroma Siez
This is the same blend as the morning which is to be applied to the tummy, back, hips, legs and feet.
Each evening before bed I would also anoint my wife’s forehead with Frankincense. This oil has been shown to enhance the immune system and is very spiritual to be used in meditations (prayer).
Each evening before bed we applied a blend of Myrrh, Chamomile, Frankincense, and Tea Tree on her perineum. While doing this ensure you push and stretch it as much as possible. These oils are relaxing and an excellent conditioner as well as anti-fungal. A large precious object will be coming through this area. Many hospitals will administer an episiotomy as protocol. Not only is this not always necessary, it is rarely necessary if the area is properly conditioned, the mother is in a comfortable and proper position not to place too much pressure on the perineum, and one lets the baby come out and not over push.
For lower back pain due to the child sitting in an uncomfortable position, rub Vetiver, Valerian, and Helichrysum mixed with olive oil on the lower back. This will help bring blood flow to the area and relax it as well.
I would also put pure Lavender oil on her pillow at night. Do not drench it, simply rub a dab on a cotton ball and rub it on the pillow and sheets.
For nausea I would rub peppermint on my wife’s temples and give her a peppermint tea.
We did this from the day of conception to a month after birth and still apply oils to our child each day. This protocol will be discussed in a later article.
