Pregnancy at 10 weeks: A literal rebuttal to the discomfort (literally)

The truth for pregnant women.
The truth for pregnant women.

I am currently 10 weeks and 2 days pregnant, and my biggest fear is knowing that I haven’t even experienced the half of it yet. Some of my symptoms I must rate as highly ridiculous and very unnecessary! How can something the size of a peanut make me feel so crummy? But I love that peanut sized sac of tissue stretching out my uterus to the size of a grapefruit, which I would be more than pleased to chuck at someone’s head.

Common symptoms that occur around this time (and my two cents on each):
Breast Changes: tenderness, fullness, darkening of the areola - Yeah, your telling me! I am enraged, vexed, and quite put out by this horrendously HUGE change, particularly in only one of my breasts.
Frequent Urination - I drive back and forth from Las Vegas to St. George quite often to see my family, so you may imagine my discomfort! Luckily there is a wonderful Indian reservation about half way that I am most accustomed to stopping and peeing at. It is also a lovely place to buy really nifty, cheap (and illegal) fire works to set off during random times of the year.
Fatigue -I can honestly say that I have never slept so much in my life.. I kind of like it.
Morning Sickness - They are all liars, morning sickness simply does not exist for me. Nope, it’s called night sickness! I usually end up staying up till about 2 am battling the urge to vomit. Hence why I am up now, writing this Hub!
Constipation - I understand quite well that there is such a thing as T.M.I. but this is a common courtesy I regretfully do not believe in. This is natural, dammit! I am hormonal, I seek my chance to complain, and complain I shall. This symptom has been my worst enemy since I first found out I was pregnant at week 4! Days will go by before I use the crapper for what it was intended, and even then there isn’t much to be excited about.
Heartburn or Indigestion - I am young, I have never really experienced these things, until now. They aren't pleasant, and I dread getting older.
Headaches - They never stop, and the worst part is I can’t take any kind of relief medication in fear of hurting the baby.

There are a couple symptoms that aren’t listed on Babiesonline.com I would also like to account for:
Frequent crying for no God given reason whatsoever - If my husband looks at me the wrong way I will start bawling my eyes out. Honestly, I don’t know what the hell is wrong with me. I even cried at the beginning of the new Star Trek movie because I thought it “beautifully tragic”. I’m probably the only person in America to have cried at that fictitious scenario.
Anger - I used to be such a nice person, with a happy disposition. I don’t really know where I ran off to! I get stressed and start yelling at everyone in sight if there is a mess of any considerable size. I usually pride myself in being a very cluttered pack-rat. I guess I'm turning into a mother!
I had to quite smoking!!! - Truly the worst time to crave a cigarette.

Now that I have related my very personal stress’s and slightly disgusting discomfort’s to just about everyone on Hubs, I will now inform you all of my creative ways of seeking refuge from them!
In the type of work I do, I find I have a lot of down time to concentrate on my suffering. I am also the type of person that doesn’t put up with injustice. These symptoms are a horrid injustice to my sex! I didn’t directly pick the apple off the tree, why on Earth am I being punished for it?

My odd ways around the symptoms
(note: I am a very silly person, any pregnant women out there do not take my advice to heart)

Breast Inflamation - Can’t really help this one.
Frequent Urination - Just don’t ever leave the bathroom, ever.
Fatigue - If your always asleep, how can you be tired? Exactly.
Morning/Night sickness - If you have morning sickness, don’t wake up till the afternoon! Haha, I’m just joking. I honestly found that if I take about 10 minutes to get out of bed I don’t feel as bad later on. I give myself a chance to wake-up before a force my body to start acting erratically. For night sickness, I find that if I go to bed early I can avoid it all together.
Constipation - I hear from sources that it could be dangerous taking a stool softener or laxative. Which is why I am most glad to have discovered something called Smooth Move Tea (a herbal, natural laxative). It has actually done me a lot of good, I am back on my normal toilet schedule, without harming anything. This tea is only $3.00 through amazon!
Heartburn - I cut down on the sugary stuff, and that has taken care of most of it.
Headaches - I am quite confident in believing the cause behind these headaches are due to the fact that I have put a stop to my caffeine consumption. Caffeine is a very addictive drug (rated as addictive as cigarettes and cocain) and this is simply a withdrawal symptom. I am sure my body will prove me wrong though.
Frequent Crying - I started a diary, whenever I feel I am harboring unrealistic emotions, I write them down. It also makes for a great laugh after you’re feeling better.
Anger - Hope your man can put up with your BS as well as mine can.

That just about does it. I have shared my mass amount of wisdom from being pregnant for the first time at 10 weeks and I hope you enjoyed every bit of my nonsensical wisdom as much as I have. I hope it helped, or at least gave some of you a good laugh.

This concludes my first post on Hubs, any constructive feedback is always accepted and appreciated. I must ask you to keep in mind that I am no writer, I am simply rambling.

That is hilarious, and OH SO FAMILIAR! My husband and I are trying to have our second baby right now...and just reading this brings back too many horrifying memories. I was so angry and irrational, that I almost left my husband...poor guy. Haha. Thank goodness it gets better after the first trimester.

Thanks for the laugh!
