Congratulations !!!!!

It is very important as soon as you find out your pregnant to find a midwife or ob-gyn doctor. Depending on your health and situation. Some mothers can not use a midwife. If this is your first child or you have had other problems having children I would recommend a doctor's office instead of just a midwife. Now some doctor's use midwives through thier office and those are good because they still have a doctor as a back up.

If you are a first time mom, do alot of homework and find one that fits for you. Not everyone works good together, if you feel uncomfortable at all look for someone else. The best place to get ideas is to ask someone you know who has had children. As a mother of 7 and grandmother of 2, I have had my share of bad doctors and midwives. Always trust your instincts, if you don't feel comfortable with the person than check into other options. A good idea is also to check hospitals that the doctors use. Hospitals are a big reason on wether or not to use that doctor. You have to feel comfortable in your hospital, they need to have a good staff and relaxing surroundings. Alot of hospitals have put new birthing suites in, they are very nice you do everything in one room, no changing rooms after you have the baby. And alot of them have spare beds for the dads.

The most important thing is just to be comfortable with who you use and the hospital you will be delivering in. If your not comfortable than you won't have a good experience and trust me if it's not a good experience you will always remember that part of it more than anything else.

Congratulations on the new edition and good luck to you.
