On May 9, 2009 a day before Mother's Day, President Barack Obama jokes with the media at the correspondents' dinner. His one liners though comical speaks of the issues that have been around during his 100 days in office. In fact, he calls the tenth day of his 100 days as the tenth anniversary of his presidency. Included in his joshing about issues included a poke even at his wife Michelle Obama about the controversy surrounding her showing off her fit arms in sleeveless dresses. By the sound and delivery of the one liner on the You Tube video; it seems like the president may have another job after the term or terms in the presidency..

President Obama was serious about the advances that has been made of the stem cell research. About the swine flu epidemic, President Obama jokingly said that once Hillary Clinton came back from Mexico that she wanted to hug him. The president also made fun of the teleprompters that the media have been saying that he's using excessively for his speeches.

In his introduction, however, he did not address himself as President Barack Obama, only as Barack Obama. The introduction signalled the fact that his speech to the correspondent group would be informal and of a non-serious context. President Obama made reference to Air Force One, the plane that transports him from place to place. President Obama quipped that Malia, 10 and Sasha 7 were not allowed to fly the plane to Manhattan and was therefore grounded.

President Obama mentioned same sex marriages as being legalized in Iowa, inviting his senior advisor, David Axelrod to "make their ties official, by marrying in the state. President Obama mentioned "How to Shoot Friends and Interrogate People" as the possible title of Dick Cheney's autobiography. The president was referring to the accident Dick Cheney had with a friend while on a hunting trip where the president accidently shot the friend but no harm was done.

President Obama also spoke comically about having to name three Commerce Secretaries. The president indicated that Judd Gregg seemed to need business cards after he walked away from the post. He may have thought that Judd Gregg stayed at the Commerce Secretary post long enough to have a lot to say about how the economy was being run. Judd Gregg, a republican was quite vocal about how the economy was run after he left the post and possibly as President Obama suggested needed business cards.

President Obama referred to Arlen Specter as a welcome "fresh face" to the Democratic party. Arlen Specter switched from the republican party to the democratic party after 28 years for political leverage he needed to keep his seat in Pennsylvania. President Obama showed a picture of a pirate that was superimposed as a reference to the Somalia pirates. President Barack Obama joked about his Chief of Staff Emanuel saying that he has a penchant for a bit of foul language.

President Barack Obama wished all the women in the dinner room including First Lady Michelle Obama a "Happy Mother's Day.

Part two of the video praised the media for having reporting practices that are"worth reporting." President Obama said that the American people look for truth even if it is an "approximation." President Obama said seriousy that journalism and reporting the facts will not solve all problems but it is a good beginning to getting problems solved for the American people.
