Kundra Vivek New CTO and What His Job Entails

The Chief Technology Officer is a new position under President Barack Obama's administration. The job will entail a process of collecting and creating series of data for action and for storage. The growing foundation of this position wll have to be built for sustainability in the wake of an ever increasing technological era. The Chief Technology Officer can look over the spectrum of employment oportunities in President Barack Obama's Economic Stimulus Package and help to create the 3.7 million jobs that the economic recovery plan promised. The Chief Technology Officer will have to be able to forecast the needs of the industries before actual projects or assignments are scheduled so that solutions can be developed expeditiously and economically.

What is the top priorities of the new position of the Chief Technology Officer or CTO. The priorities of the CTO will be to create safe and secure information storage and to work in a legal infrastructure of the 21st century. The Chief Technology Officer should be on the forefront of international competition in technology with the inate ability to keep the country ahead in information technology.

The $787 Economic Stimulus Package mandated spending in allocations to the health care industry to upgrade the agencies from a paper laden, record burgeoning location of health records to the green technology of digital record keeping and storage.

The Chief Technology Officer should be adept at the inner workings and emergence of new computer technology such as biotechnology, nanotechnology and energy self-sufficiency. The CTO will need to know the federal red tape that is involved in each of it many federal agencies along with the relevant regulations and guidelines. In that respect, the Chief Technology Officer should learn quickly that patience is a virture.

A logical place for the Chief Technology Officer to start on his new job is the broadband initiative under the Recovery Act. The CTO should be instrumental in getting the states to adhere to federal regulations concerning broadband, wireless, and telecommunications. The Chief Technology will have to establish a certain amount of authority when interaction with these agencies with information technolgoy on the same playing field as President Barack Obama.

Network security remain the top issues in information technlogy, and the Chief Technology Officer has to be on the cutting edge of making sure that the federal agencies computer systems are secure against hackers and mechanical deterrents that may try to thwart the smooth workings of the federal system of government. The Chief Technology Officer should look for shared practices that work to eliminate interruptions in the federal process of government within the myriad of agencies. The CTO's ability to collaborate across federal agencies lines of red tape in communication will result in great savings to the government and employee job satisfaction.
