Once you have purchased a new home or done a refinance, you will definitely have to think about mortgage protection insurance. This is important in the event that you or your spouse lose a job, die, get sick or are disabled. For those who would opt for coverage after losing a job, a term life insurance policy is possible to cover unemployment benefits.

You may be offering this type of insurance to home owners and spending thousands of dollars on advertising, sending out postcards and possibly by word of mouth. If you are a sales person who is providing this kind of service to others, primary mortgage protection insurance leads may be the best investment you could consider.

Clients's Needs First

People that answer your ads or postcards may not need a term life insurance policy, but would be interested in knowing how they can be fully covered if something happens to them.

Many of the companies that sell primary mortgage insurance leads send out postcards to target prospects using their databases. It does not mean that when the prospect receives the postcard that they are still interested in your offer. They may have already secured a policy with another agent or they may be experiencing other distracting issues of which mortgage protection insurance would be the furthest thing from their minds.

If someone does call you after receiving a postcard or seen an advertisement, they would be considered a hot prospect and it would be time for the sales person to first answer any simple questions over the phone, but it is important to secure an appointment to go into full details. You cannot close a sale over the phone in the insurance industry because people will have a lot of questions.

Be prepared to serve the customer and take care of their particular needs being mindful of their specific circumstances.

Medical Exams – Are They Mandatory?

When a prospect receives the postcard or seen the ad, they may not know that a medical exam is not necessary, but it needs to be explained to them that some insurance policies do look at extenuating circumstances such as an ongoing illness and that may change the monthly premium.

Most primary mortgage insurance leads will do some kind of research before they call you first. You need to explain to the prospect that it is usually a given that if they purchase mortgage protection insurance in smaller amounts, they may not have to do a medical exam. This needs to be clarified for the prospect.

The application process does require answers to questions on health, employment status and occupation. Depending on the answers given on the application, some insurance agent will need to find out more information about the prospect’s health to make an appropriate determination.

The New Mortgage Protection

The primary mortgage protection leads that generate a response is a clue that the person wants to know more especially if they will be covered for loss of job, disability and hospitalization. In fact, they need to be assured that the process is easy and that there are no medical exams necessary. Give the prospect the right product that best suit their current and future needs.
