Do You Really Need A TV On Your Treadmill? No, But I Like It
ProForm Perspective ES Entertainment Teadmill
I will admit it, even though I have a workout plan in place and I do stick to it, I would much rather sit on the couch and watch Oprah or CSI. Or a host of other tv shows that I enjoy (like two and a half men).
The basic tv addict that I am this is the first thing that captured my attention when comparing treadmills. I remember the first treadmilll that I had -it was manual, bulky and very noisy, I have since upgraded several times but when I started looking at the new line of treadmills I was pleasantly surprised to see all the new features but it's the tv that got my attention.
I could go on about the heavy duty motor with a 20 year warranty, 1 button quick incline and speed control, 27 trainer workouts, music port, coolaire fans, heart monitor and so much more-but I found myself going back to the built in tv and wondering to myself, do I really need a treadmill with a built in tv? I know that the tv is the least of this treadmill's features. Couldn't I just plop the treadmill in the middle of the living room and watch tv while I do my walking? I guess I could, but until you have walked on this baby you'll never appreciate the difference between watching a television while walking and watching a tv right on your treadmill. You can now have your treadmill in any room of the house and have tv.
Yes, I know it's got a music port and many people like to workout while listening to music but I relax with tv and when the commercials are on you can hit the speed and incline and give yourself an amazing workout without having to look at a clock or keep track of time as TV is already broken down into 30 minute and one hour shows and each have commercials every 10 minutes or so- it's your perfect stop watch.
So does a treadmill really need an onboard tv? No.
Is it a good extra feature to have? OH YES!

When I do use my treadmill (and it is not often enough!) I usually turn the television up loud and off I go!

I love the idea of a TV on a treadmill! I do a treadmill workout in my gym every day, and it sometimes bores me to tears. They have TV's on the wall, but usually it is playing things I'm not interested in. This treadmill looks fantastic!
