ProForm XP 420 Razor Elliptical

Sometimes bigger isn't better, and Nordic Track wants to prove that with its Proform XP 420 Razor Elliptical machine. The Razor offers a smaller version of your normal sized elliptical, cutting the width in half so you can enjoy closer compact strides and glides for optimal performance. With six different targeted workouts available, you will find an action to intensify each and every muscle in the body.

Pros

If there was only one benefit, the fact that this machine has something for all ages is enough to be tempted to get one for your household. Opportunities such as four separate personal training workouts where you can focus on a certain goal, whether it be your own personal goals, weight loss, or even aerobics, there are certain resistances for everyone. Add the ability to build specific muscle groups with the "target toning trainer workout" and you've come full circle with a complete body workout.

For some of you that might not be enough, but the 420 Razor has what is called a Target Pacer (TP), which is an innovation like no other. While working out, the TP will actually enhance your workout or calm it down a bit so you can get the most out of every workout. Mixing this with the EKG Heart Monitor that uses sensors on the elliptical's handlebars, making sure you are working as hard as need be to reach your goals, is a benefit like no other out there.

Cons

Unfortunately, the machine is geared towards women with its narrow stance, and is not really setup for people carrying heavier weight and have been known to break. In fact, there have been several issues with faulty parts in various areas of the Razor that many clients have not been happy. Some even to the point where the parts were made wrong and some individuals couldn't put the machine together at all.

Then there are some that have realized that because the machine is so light, it can cause wobbling to occur, even for someone that weighs 122lbs., which is not something to overlook. Some other complaints have been due to noise issues, mainly because of the way the parts need to be put together for the overall effect. Last but not least, if you purchase one and the power adapter is missing, many have said Sears doesn't carry one for the 420 Razor, and you may have to purchase batteries.

No matter what your final decision is on whether or not to purchase the ProForm XP 420 Razor Elliptical, it's wise to keep in mind that several new products have issues that need to be tweaked over time, even though the company spent months trying to keep that from happening. Nordic has been around for years and has worldwide rapport on producing efficient products. If you have issues or concerns about a purchase, be sure to contact their customer service whether with a phone call or online.
