ProForm XP Stride Climber 600

Unlike other elliptical machines on the market, the ProForm XP Stride Climber 600 Elliptical offers you two motions to challenge you and keep you in shape.

DESCRIPTION

This elliptical machine features a climb setting as well as the stride setting. Muscles tend to get used to one motion and are no longer challenged. The ProForm XP Stride Climber gives you two options from which to choose so you can continually increase your muscle tone and strength.

PROS

· An iFit® Fitness Journal will track your progress and store your personal data for up to 10 years, so it's easy to see how you've improved over time.

· The stride setting gives you a total body workout.

· The stride length of 18 inches provides a more full range of motion.

· The climb setting allows you to work your hamstrings and glutes with a more vertical stride.

· This ProForm elliptical comes standard with 8 workouts created by fitness trainers. You can focus on weight loss, performance goals or aerobic goals.

· The resistance is automatically adjusted for your convenience and based on your fitness goals.

· This model features a scrolling target trainer that displays messages designed to motivate and instruct you as you go through your workout.

· The ProForm XP Stride Climber 600 features a smooth, frictionless resistance system, protecting your joints from jerky movements. This technology is called SMRTM, or Silent Magnetic Resistance. You can choose from 10 different resistance levels without interrupting your routine.

· You can adjust your resistance with one touch of a button (no scrolling).

· Check your heart rate to make sure you are in "the zone" using the Dual-Grip EKGTM Heart Rate Monitor. The sensors are built right into the handlebars.

· The weight limit is an accommodating 275 pounds.

· This elliptical comes with a limited lifetime warranty on the frame, and a 7-year warranty on the brake.

· A water holder is within easy reach whenever it's needed.

· A built-in book holder provides a space for your favorite magazine or novel to help pass the time while you exercise.

CONS

· The price range of around $1,100 may be a bit high for some budgets. Update: The ProForm 600 is now $499 at the website. You can buy it directly from ProForm website.

Overall, the ProForm Stride Climber 600 Elliptical is a good investment. You'll build muscle, tone, lose unwanted inches and strengthen your entire body with the use of both the stride feature and the climb feature. You'll be able to challenge your muscles each day.

I received a XP 600 for Christmas and in just 8 weeks I have over all toned my body and lost 4 pounds! I started off at a short 15 minute work out in the morning and then again in the evening and slowly built up to 30 minutes once a day 5 days a week giving myself a break 2 days a week. I love It !

I bought a new one at sears and when we put it together it was missing a part. Secondly I purchased it on a sunday and by thursday of the same week the monitor had stopped working. It will take a week to get a service tech to my home and all they could tell me is it will be between 8am and 5pm that they will show up, so I have to take a day off work just to get it fixed. If I would return it to the store they would charge me a 15% restocking fee to return it. Whatever happened to "the customer is always right" and customer service in this country? So now I have this expensive piece of exercise equipment sitting in my home and I can't use it until I get it fixed and it's brand new (I've had it for 5 days now)! I'm disgusted with sears and their return and repair policies and the fact that they carry defective equipment to begin with! Not to mention how discouraged I am with this pro-form xp stride climber 600 elliptical machine. I would not recommend this elliptical machine nor would I recommend doing business with sears.

Repair man just left the house. My machine, the pro-form XP StrideClimber 600 is unrepairable! The repair man says this same problem happens to many of these machines. The bearing housing in the frame stripps out and the nuts that hold the bearing in the frame come off. This happened after two workouts! Now to get my money back I'll spend a few hours taking it apart to get it back in the box. Please do not buy this product, PRO-FORM XP StrideClimber 600.

The machine works great until it falls apart. Based on our experience, and the experience of others who have posted comments, the time to failure is very short. If you are going to really use the machine, save your money and buy something that is gym quality. You will be happy that you did.

I too own this same piece of equiptment. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS FROM SEARS. As I was working out on it the crank arm shaft broke completely off and the arm feel completely to the floor. Hurting my knee and my arm [trying to brace myself]. Sears will not replace it. The Sears Repairman came out and said that there's bubbles in the metal meaning its a bad casting. This is not the first time metal has broken off. The first time the metal arm actually split right down the middle of the arm. Its amazing................ Sears said "its not covered under the "Lemons Policy".... I'm so pissed. Do not buy this machine.

I wish there was help they should not be allowed to treat us consumers like this.

I bought it to excersize my knee after knee surgery. The machine has broken down 4 times with several weeks until the repairman could come only to order parts, then several more weeks to come back for repairs. Today exactly one year later the main axle broke and I'm going to have to go back to the knee Doctor to have an MRI to find out what damage it did when the machine colapsed! It is Crap!
