Three Productivity Hacks
51#1 Take care the most important things first.
Determine what is the one the thing you most need to accomplish that day -this should take priority over everything else. Nonetheless, there will be distactions and interruptions such as phone calls, email and people dropping by your desk, new tasks throughout the day, that can ruin this plan. You can't afford not to do this though because if you put off doing your most important thing until later in the day, you will end up not getting much of it done.
#2 Work on one thing at a time.
Focus on the task at hand. Whatever task you're working on, only work on that one task. Don't answer the phone, check email, watch tv, or work on seventeen other jobs simultaneously. Work on one thing with total focus and concentration.
#3 Organize your computer's desktop
Many people save music, documents, video etc. to their computer desktop. The desktop soon becomes crowded. Don't save files to your desktop. Create a folder on your harddrive to save files to. This folder should not be on the desktop, instead have a shortcut to where the folder is on the computer's harddrive. You should have shortcuts on the desktop to various applications and folders that you use daily. Don't let it become cluttered.
