The ebook trade is beginning to flourish.Everyone of us has a money making idea rattling around in that head of ours. All we need to do is unlock it and share it with the rest of the world. Making money on the internet is not impossible or really very hard. It does require a certain level of creativity and effort though. You must be not only able, but willing to think outside the box, and more importantly to act on your hunches. What I will be showing you is a simple method of taking your hobby or passion and writing it out for all to read and share, by selling it in e-book form. In so doing you will literally be able to turn your passion into a marketable and profitable product for internet buyers.

Making Money Doing What You Love

We all have heard the saying do what you love and the money will follow. It is appealing, who wouldn't want to get paid for simply doing what they enjoy. I have discovered through the help of an author and friend that such a thing is possible. Everyone of us has some unique trait or gift if you will that we have become experts at doing. There is some ability, hobby, or passion that we do whenever we can, and enjoy it thoroughly. I am here to tell you that that passion of yours, whatever it is can make you money. In this world of billions there are people out there in this world who would pay to know what you know, and more importantly to know how you do it.

The first thing we are going to do is take that hobby and passion of ours and put it into words. You can type it out on any kind of word program, I use Microsoft office, as it also has the graphics capabilities that we will need later. What you want to do is first explain your skill, whatever it is. You might be good at gardening, cooking, or auto repair, anything will do. Myself i have become somewhat of an expert on using the Law of Attraction to achieve the things you want in life. So I will use that as an example.In the interest of speed I will refer to The Law of Attraction with the abbreviation LOA.

What I want to do is explain, as briefly yet concise as possible first what the LOA is, and a short history as it pertains to my life. Then I will organize the methods I use and teach into a number of practical and easy to follow steps, giving detailed examples and exercises from my experiences. Each step should be about 2-3 pages in length depending of course on how long you want your book to be. My system uses only five main steps and I'm aiming for an e-book only about 90 pages in length. We must remember that this is a document that will be read online not a paper and ink book. If at all possible keep it to a length that can initially be read in one sitting. Longer books are of course optional and feasible depending on your topic and target audience.

From Word Document To PDF

Once we have written our short manual or guide to doing what we love and know, our next step will be to organize it into book form. There are many resources available online that will help you do this, or even do it for you for a small fee of course. I have found though that using simple cut and paste methods and photo-shop I was able to produce my own virtual cover and all appropriate indexes and title pages on my own computer at home. Also now is the time to make sure that you have carefully edited and corrected any mistakes in grammar, spelling, or form. I can not stress this enough. While it may be your book, no one wants to read ninety pages of mistakes and mangled language. It will effect the flow, and readability of your book, and ultimately sells. Once again you can go to online e-book publishing houses for assistance or take the time to do it yourself.

Once written, edited, and finished there is one final step before you can sell your book. It must be turned into a PDF format. This is not all that difficult, as most computers utilize Adobe, programs, and it is a merely a matter of downloading the appropriate program from Adobe, if you do not already posses it. Most PDF programs work through the print menu on files. Be sure to follow the simple instructions on your program and always be sure to save your documents before and after. The program I used was very simple and self guiding. Now that you have a PDF version of your book you can begin marketing and selling your masterpiece.

Marketing and Selling Ebooks Online

If you decide to sell your book yourself it is not all that difficult. However you must be prepared to do some promoting of yourself and your new book. The money is not going to simply come to you by itself. Today we live in an age where getting the word out about anything is not all that hard. The easiest way to promote your new e-book would be to first use sites such as HubPages.com, then utilize networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and even Twitter. All of these sites rely on volume though so it's time to come out of your shell and learn to start talking to people. Every new friend you make online is a potential customer and advertiser for your book. Be careful though you are not here to use people to make a profit. You are however here to help enrich their lives with valuable and life changing information.

Another wise tactic is to search the topic of your book online and find groups that discuss it online in forums. While you must be careful about openly advertising your book, there are many sites where simply mentioning you wrote a little guide about that topic will not hurt. Be mindful of forum rules though as here on HubPages, advertising is not allowed. Write a Blog about your book, be careful to use keywords that will not only bring in advertisers but increase your standings on searches, finally if you have a website with good traffic, it would be a great avenue and stage to promote your book, don't have your own website, then now is the time to get one. Yahoo, Go daddy, and Homestead are just a few of the sites that will help you establish and build your very own web address.

Once you have established a way to market your book it would probably be a good idea to find a way for people to pay for it and for yourself to get payed. I have used both Paypal, and Clickbank on my projects and found both to be reliable as far as I am concerned. Both are simple to set up and will walk you through the process step by step. I have never failed to receive payment from either source. In saying that though be warned as with any online resource there are many devious individuals waiting out there to take advantage of you. Use common sense when approaching any money transaction online. There are many online e-book publishers that will not only release your book for you and help market it with giants such as Amazon, and Google, but will also handle transactions for you. If you think marketing and internet sells is a little over your head then I would recommend this for you.

Time to Relax and Collect your Money

That's was a trick statement. For those of you marketing your book on your own there is no rest. Your sells are dependent directly on the amount of effort you put forth. There is always more you could be doing to market not only your book but yourself. Also now that you have a e-book that is moving it would be a great time to start thinking follow-up.Those who are successful in this field know that one book will not make them rich, they establish multiple income streams, and so should you. Take everything you learned in the process of your first book to streamline the whole thing and write another. Start writing more articles about your chosen topic, books are not the only means to sell words. Many people have found great success with Ezine, and Ehow. Whatever you choose to do, use this experience to grow and move forward. maybe you're not a great writer. that's okay get someone to write for, use your knowledge and their skill to make a profit, just be sure that the arrangement is agreed upon to begin with and all involved receive their due.

As I mentioned in the previous Hub, e-books will soon come into their own. manufacturers are rushing to meet the demand for devices to store and read online literature. Even apple has recognized the popularity of e-books and you can now download and read them on the Iphone. Soon the author that utilizes this great resource will reap the benefits not only in exposure but cold hard cash. Remember it is a simple process. First you take that skill, hobby, or passion you love, and write it down. Second edit and prepare it in a way that can easily be read and followed. Next convert that text document into a PDF format, then build or establish a way to market it using networking sites and search engines. Using an e-book publisher or online transaction agent make a way for customers to pay for your book. Finally keep going and building on your initial success. In no time at all you will have found a way to turn your passions into profit and success.
