Promote Yourself First - Not Your MLM Company
52Most Internet Network Marketing Companies Would Never Teach You This
The title of this article flies right in the face of what is being taught by most network marketing companies. Your company wants you to promote them and give them exclusive exposure.
Brand Yourself First, Not Your Company. Why Do I Say That?
1. By branding yourself and promoting yourself first, you have much more control over your business and over your prospect. You decide how you will guide your prospect. It will not be left in the hands of your company.
Let's say that you are only branding your company. If your prospect decides that your business opportunity is not for them for some reason, you are completely left out in the cold. Most likely you have lost that prospect forever. The only connection between you and your prospect was your company. Now that connection is gone.
On the other hand, if you were promoting yourself, the prospect's connection would be with you and not your company. When you brand yourself, you build a relationship of trust and respect. If your business opportunity is not for your prospect, you can guide them in another direction that will benefit both of you. Because of your relationship, the prospect wants to do business with you.
This is called internet attraction marketing.
2. By branding yourself, you stand out from the other reps out there. That is a very important part of marketing your business. By branding yourself, you will position yourself as a professional and as a leader.
Anyone can brand and promote a specific company. In fact, that is the way that most people market what they have to offer. By promoting their company, they try to "sell" you on their business opportunity first.
It's not difficult to understand why most people fail in network marketing. You don't want to be out there competing with other reps who are selling their opportunity just as you are doing.
You don't want to be like everyone else. You want to stand out as a professional.
You don't want to be chasing after prospects and trying to sell them. You want prospects attracted to you. That is the basis for attraction marketing and the reason why you should brand yourself.
My marketing is based upon this next statement. "People love to buy but they hate to be sold." Don't try to "sell" your prospect on your business opportunity. At first, you don't have to even mention that you have an opportunity.
So How Do You Promote Yourself or Brand Yourself?
How do you do this without appearing arrogant? It's easy, but you must know what you are doing.
By branding yourself, you are completely different from most people out there. You are not trying to sell them anything. Your prospect appreciates the fact that the information you provide is not for the purpose of getting money from them.
Instead you provide value to them. You give the prospect information that is helpful to them.
You want to provide helpful information and solutions to the problems that your prospects may have.
What does this accomplish? You are building a relationship with your prospects where their trust in you is growing. They appreciate the fact you are not trying to sell them anything. By providing them valuable information, you are building their respect for you.
You are establishing yourself as a leader, as an expert, as someone who knows what you are doing.
Don't worry if you don't understand all of this. With the proper training in internet attraction marketing, and in particular, training in web 2.0 social media marketing, you will be able to do all of this.
I just want you to understand the significance and the benefits of first promoting yourself rather than your company. By following this advice and by getting the proper training, you can become very, very successful in whatever business you choose.
