Promote Your Hubs With GuideDawgs

GuideDawgs.com
I recently discovered a good article site that I think HubPages users might be able to use to build up traffic to their pages. The site: www,GuideDawgs.com is a site primarily focused on user submitted guides. They have a bunch of categories and it seems like your guide can be on pretty much any topic.
Since the HubPages team is encouraging us to promote our hubs using links from different places, if thought I should share this as another way for you to promote your hubs.
AdSense Impression Sharing
What I think is really cool is that they also offer an Adsense Impression sharing program just like hubpages. You put you AdSense publisher id in your profile page when you decide to participate in the program and you start sharing impressions on the first guide you've written.
They start out with a basic impression share of 40% for you and 60% for them, not exacly the lions share of impressions, but they have a tiered system where you can quickly move up in share by submitting more articles or by linking the site from one of your hubpages. This gets you another 5% share basically for free. That means that if you write 15 guides, and link to the site once you get a 65% share of impressions on the guides you write.
This is part of the program I thought was really interesting. As with hubpages there is also an impression share for referrals. If you refer someone who joins and writes a guide, you get 10% of the impressions from their pages as well. So if you join and never write a single guide, you can make money off the referral. It also seems the referal never goes away so as long as the guide from the referred person stays active, you get your cut.
The Interface
Once you sign up, you get an email with a registration code (not very web 2.0), but whatever it works. Once you verify your registration, you are in and you can start writing guides write away.
The profile let's you have a web address and you can include this on all your guides. You can also put links directly in your guide. I didn't see any way to view the author's profile, but I didn't look too hard.
The editing area is called the dawg pound and you simply select a category for the guide and you can start writing. You can either save it as a draft or publish it. They seem to have a manual publishing process, because to took a while for my published guide to show up on the site. I did get an email from them telling me that it was published and where I could go to see the live page. What's really cool is all new guides go right on the homepage. No need to build up a hubscore to get there.
Well, I'm going to give them a try and see what happens, it sure can't hurt.

Good to know, thanks for the heads up. I missed that important point somehow. Probably would be a good idea to use the GuideDawg guides to promote HubPages signups as well.
I did some digging around and it turns out that jimmy's comment is not exactly correct. I discovered that you get 20% of hubpage's share of ad impressions for the first 2 hours of their visit, but if they sign up and become a member within 30 days, you get 10% of the impressions from their pages just like GuideDawgs.com
So to the two hour impression boost means you can earn 8% more of the total impressions on a page (that’s 20% of 40% i.e. hubpage’s share) or a total of 68% instead of 60% of the total page impressions. It’s still absolutely worth doing, but it’s not the way jimmythejock described it.
Hi, Hedgeek. Thank you as always!
Hey Guru-C, glad you enjoyed the page.
While I'm here... another thing I forgot to mention is that if you want to get the impression boost or credit for the referral, you have to use your referral tracker in the linking URL you used to get traffic to your page. Otherwise the Hubpages won't credit you for the boost or know that you sent the person to them in the first place.
That's great information. I'm still trying to figure out ways to boost income even though Hubpages are mainly a creative outlet for me. Thanks!
Great Hub advice. Thanks
