How to get traffic via StumbleUpon

This article is not to tell people how to download the SU toolbar or how to signup at stumbleupon. This article assumes that you have already done those things. The focus of this article is specific things you should do to increase your stumbleupon traffic and get lots of stumblers to see your page when they hit the "Stumble!" button. The strategies should be used in unision and achieve the best results if they are all applied.

Raise the importance of your StumbleUpon profile - This takes time and patience to do. You cannot become a top stumbler overnight. It takes a few months but if you achieve "Top stumbler" status, you can easily drive thousands of visitors to your site with very little effort. To get to this status you need to make frequent use of your stumble upon toolbar. Spend about 15-20 minutes a day stumbling and giving thumbs up to sites that you actually like. Additionally, if you find any interesting articles or news online and it hasn't been stumbled, make a discovery. You should tag your discoveries properly and write good reviews about them. If people like your discoveries, they will become your fan and write good reviews about your stumble Upon profile.

Gettings lots of fans and good reviews on your SU profile is key to getting good stumbleupon traffic. One stumble, tag and review from a top stumbler is enough to get hundreds or thousands of visits. To raise your chances of being befriended by other stumblers and getting reviews, take a look at some sites that have already been stumbled that you happened to like and make a good review or become a fan of the person to discovered that site. Sometimes, you will get a good review in return for your review. Most top stumblers have written many reviews of other stumblers and are close or are at the 200 friend limit.

If you are in more of a hurry to get friends, a good source to trade reviews and friends is at Digital Point Forums . You have to register, make a few posts and wait a few weeks before trading but its worth it. Requests to trade stumbles/friends/reviews at Digital point should be posted in the "freebies" forum under "Buy/Sell/Trade". There are many people here requesting to trade stumbles and/or reviews in this forum so you can get a large amount in a short amount of time.

When posting a thread to trade stumbles, be sure to ask for a stumble, tag, and review and not just a regular stumble. A regular stumble, like the kind that most people do, will do you very little. It will not really push your site upward for any keyword so relatively few people will stumble on it. If you get a lot of people to review and tag your page with the appropriate tags, however, you will be stumbled alot because people who are interested in the topics of your site will likely stumble onto your site.

You can also request people to review your SU profile at digitalpoint. If you do request, make sure they tag your profile as "top stumbler" and write more than a 2 word review of you. In return, you are expected to do the same for them.

Do not say that you have done something on DP when you have not actually done it. If you do, people will quickly learn to ignore your threads.

Besides digital point, there are several other webmaster forums with promotional sections but they have limited usefullness as they are not nearly as popular.

Using these tactics, you can constantly hit above 1000 unique visitors a day using stumbleupon.

Well, thats it for this article. Good luck stumbling, and if you liked this article please Add me as a friend on stumbleupon!
