When decorating for a wedding, it is important to always keep the theme in mind.  You want to respect proper wedding décor.  No matter what the theme may be, certain options are available to every single wedding decorator.   If the wedding is to take place in a church, it is advisable to keep the décor simple.  Flowers, either real or silk are always an elegant means of decorating.  Floral arrangements could be placed atop rented pillars strategically within the sanctuary, at the doorways, and on or near the altar. A very popular item is an arch for the bride and groom to stand under as they take their vows.  These arches can be decorated with flowers that reflect the colors of the bridal party, artificial ivy often accented with twinkling lights.

After the ceremony it's time for the reception.  Whether in a luxury hotel or the backyard, decorations that turn an ordinary space into a romantic dreamland are mandatory.  If the party is in an elaborate ballroom, the decorations should remain simple.  However, if it's in a bare rented hall, a lot of decorations may be needed to transform it into a place of romance and beauty.  The first step is to meet with the management to find out what they do and do not allow, and how soon the hall will be available to decorate.  Next, enlist friends and relatives to help decorate and make favors if necessary.  Some venues charge extra for cleaning after the event is over so don’t forget the clean up team while you’re at it.

With that out of the way, remember to stick to your theme and colors, add appropriate props, and let your creative juices flow.  Use candles, flowers, even balloons to create the ideal setting for the happy couple and most of all – don’t forget to stay within your budget.
