An appraiser charges about $300 to $400 plus another $350 for their appraiser showing up to testify. If the case does not come up early in the morning and drags on to the end of day they will charge another $300 or so dollars. If a taxpayer needs the professional mouthpiece, they charge about $250 an hour. The average taxpayer does not want to shell out over $1,000 for appraiser and attorney with NO guarantee of winning.
