Prophets in Order
68Time Line of the Prophets
When I began to read end time prophesy I had no idea what was going on. With out any time frame, I didn't know who was saying what or when. It helps to know the time frames, in which the prophets appeared, when attempting to understand scripture . Let's begin with Isaiah
Isaiah's ministry spanned the years from 740 to 697 BC. He is believed to have been the son of a prince of Judah. His ministry lasted through the reign of four kings of Judah. The book of Isaiah contains more prophecies concerning the Messiah than any other book in the bible. We will concern ourselves with end time prophesy. In the 44th. chapter, the Lore says, " I am the Lord that maker all things... (v 25) that frustrate the... (v 26) "That confirmed the word". (v28) That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd and shall perform all of my pleasures: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built, and to the temple, thou foundation shall be laid. I wonder what Isaiah must have thought? This was at least 120 years before the temple was destroyed, and at least 160 years before Cyrus King of Persia made his edict for the Hebrews to be allowed to return to Jerusalem, from Babylon (538BC)
Jeremiah was appointed a Prophet before he was born. Jeremiah's ministry spanned from 627 until after Jerusalem was destroyed in 586 BC. Jeremiah was Gods messenger to the people concerning their sinful nature. Jeremiah prophesied the Babylonian captivity of the Hebrews. Jer. 25:11 "And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years". (v12) "and it shall come to pass when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon... "
Daniel As a young man, probably a teenager when he was taken to Babylon. He and children of the king, and princes of Judea was taken to Babylon in 605 BC. Two years later Daniel interpreted a dream for king Nebuchadnezzar. It will be approx forty years before he records his first vision.
EZEKIEL was taken to Babylon during the second deportation in 597 BC. At the age of thirty EZEKIEL received his first prophetic vision from the Lord (593). HIS last recorded message was in 577 BC, just nine years after Jerusalem and the temple was destroyed. His messages of the gathering together of the Hebrew people was spoken to those people that were, at that time, scattered among the nations. Approx. eighteen years after EZEKIEL's last recorded message Daniel has his first vision.
Daniel 7:1 In the first year of king Belshazzar, Daniel has a dream and visions of his head, upon his bed. This vision came to Daniel in 559BC. Daniel sees four great beast come up out of the sea. Gabriel interprets these four beasts as being the first four great kingdoms upon the earth. In Gabriel's interpretation of this vision, The fourth beast is definitely said to be the fourth great kingdom on the earth. The Little horn (or the Antichrist AS HE IS SOMETIMES CALLED) According to Gabriel is a king who rises up during the dominion of the fourth kingdom. Two years later Daniel has another vision in which, Gabriel interprets as representing the Second and Third kingdom upon the earth. He gives the identity of these two beasts as being the Medo-Persian kingdom and Grecia kingdom. In Gabriel's interpretation, the fourth beast represents the FOURTH great kingdom upon the earth. Daniel has his next vision's in the first year of Darius which would be 538 BC, and the last in 535 BC. This last vision is described in chapters 10, 11 and 12. The Lord wants us to understand His word, His laws, and His prophesy. If He didn’t want us to understand them, He would not have given them to us. He does not want to be a mystery to us. He wants to have a relationship with us based upon truth. He wants His children to understand His word. If we begin our relationship with Him, with a misconception or with our own interpretation of who He is, we will find ourselves caught up in “THE MYSTERY” that we have created.
Considering the time frame in which the prophesy appeared, the events that were going on at the time, I have come to believe that these prophesies have all been fulfilled. The commandment to build Jerusalem came forth in 538 B.C. Daniel 9:25 clearly states that "...from the time that the commandment comes forth ..." That Hebrew nation has 70 weeks, it shall be 69 weeks unto the Messiah the Prince, and 62 weeks and then they shall cut off the Messiah. We should re-evaluate our belief system regarding end time prophesy! This period of time between 538 BC and 26 28 or 30 AD is the same length of time as sixty two of Gabriel's weeks. Gabriel had said that he had come to give skill and understanding to Daniel. This message concerning the 62 weeks is a very important portion of the skill and understanding, that Daniel received. This fact must not be overlooked, if we are to understand end time prophesy.

Good references! I liked this one very much. Thank you!I believe Bible prophesies are about some things that happened in the past. But by learning from them, you can almost be certain of what's going to happen in the future.
