Alternative Medicine for Prostate

Prostate Treatment Options

When it comes to prostate health, there are two major concerns. One is prostate enlargement and the other is prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is just like any other cancer in that it is a serious, potentially fatal disease and needs to be constantly monitored and treated with conventional medicine. Prostate enlargement is growth in the prostate and can be the first sign of cancer. However, prostate enlargement is usually harmless with the growth being benign and it is generally very easy to treat.

Although prostate cancer will often involve chemotherapy and radiation along with other traditional medicines, it can be helpful to complement this medication with alternative medicine for prostate conditions. Prostate enlargement, although not especially dangerous, also needs to be treated and this can be done very easily with safe, effective alternative medicine. Those with these conditions may choose to use alternative medicine for prostate because they are very safe and effective and don’t contain many side effects that come with prescription medicine. Using alternative medicine for prostate can also help the patient become a more proactive in their own health.

Flaxseed

When choosing alternative medicine for prostate cancer, flaxseed has been proven to be very beneficial. It has been shown that taking flaxseed can impede the growth of tumours found on the prostate and while it may not stop the tumour from expanding, it can be very useful in slowing the growth. Flaxseed contains many nutrients that allow it to do this. The first is the high levels of omega-3 fatty acids that it contains. These acids are very effective in slowing the reproduction of the cancer cells. Flaxseed is also rich with lignans, which is a fibre that can be found in the lining of the seed. Lignans make flaxseed an even more powerful weapon in the body’s fight against cancer. When using flaxseed as an alternative medicine for prostate, it has been shown to be more effective when the entire flaxseed is eaten and not just the oil as the oil does not contain the proper amount of fibre that is needed.

Pumpkin Seed Oil

Pumpkin seed oil can be a very effective alternative medicine for prostate enlargement. Pumpkin seed oil can greatly reduce the amount of growth in the prostate due to the number of health benefits that pumpkin seed oil holds. Pumpkin seed oil contains Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin E, omega-3, omega-6, zinc, selium, carbohydrates, and phytosterols, which greatly resemble cholesterol cells. All of these vitamins and minerals are very beneficial to reduce prostate growth and while they can be taken separately in the form of supplements, the particular combination found in pumpkin seed oil seems to be especially beneficial.

Radishes

Another alternative medicine for prostate can be found right in your own kitchen. Radishes have been found to have a very positive effect when trying to treat problems of the prostate. Radishes are known to have anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, which are very effective in reducing growths. Radishes can be taken in a couple of forms. The first is to just eat the radishes as they are. Many people prefer this method as they can simply be added to salads and for those that don’t enjoy the taste, they can become barely noticeable. Another way to take radishes as a treatment for prostate is to make a radish tea. To make the tea, place radish leaves in water and bring to a boil. Allow the water to boil fully for three to four minutes with the radish leaves in it. Remove the radish leaves, allow the water to cool slightly and then drink the water. This treatment should be done daily and can be a great treatment for prostate conditions.
