Protein powder is undoubtedly a body builder's best friend. Some even say if the had to pick one supplement that helped them achieve their goals it would be protein powder. The protein found in the powder for one is very safe, unless you consume a ridiculous amount you body has no negative effects in the digestion of this miracle supplement. Why you may ask? Protein is the key ingredient in your body. Forget Carbohydrates, and fat, protein out ways all of them in importance for your body's growth. Why do you think protein has the prefix pro in it? It stands for importance, or first. What this all boils down to is this; if you do not eat adequate amounts of protein your muscle building days will never come. Your body needs the muscle building block in order to get anywhere with muscle growth and development.
At this point people may be saying "but wait, I can get protein from steaks, as well as other meat and diary sources." Well you can, but do you realize how costly this is? A average steak hamburger has around 18 grams of protein, as to a scoop which has about 23. Not only that but you have to take in account the time spent to cook the steak, lets say 5 minutes on average. A protein powder shake takes only 30 seconds to stir! Lastly lets break down the cost. Ok, hamburger steak is about $2.00 at the least, with this two dollars you get 18 grams of protein. Protein powder cost about $15.00 per container, in this container there is around 28-30 servings. These servings each contain 24 grams of high quality protein. So the math comes down to this; $15.00 will give you a grand total of 720 grams of protein, as to if you spent $15.00 on hamburger you would get 135 grams.
As you can see protein powder is more cost efficient, and in the end will save you more money in the long run. Lastly you must not forget all the time saved mixing as compared to cooking and or buying your hamburger at a local fast food joint don't forget all those nasty additives. So with this why don't you do yourself a huge favor and go buy some protein powder!
