I'm a professional psychic who has done literally thousands of readings. It seems like every day I see or hear (or get asked) by people whether or not "psychic readings are true." That's what this hub is about.

Plenty of folks were taught through their religion (and/or their natural skepticism) that either "psychics are bad/godless" (not true) or that it all has to be a scam.

Well, if you fall in the above category then maybe this hub is not for you. I respect other people's beliefs and you are invited to respect mine.

I don't do readings in person myself very often any more. Read on for more about my story, how I got into this, and so on.

Although it's true about many things, (the old "you get what you pay for") in my opinion and experience, you don't have to spend a ton of money to get a *good* psychic reading. There are some websites out there (and some 800/900 number services) that ARE scams, (not to mention outrageously priced) that train people--actors!-- with scripts to "cold read" and or to tell people what they want to hear. Those are to be avoided at all costs.

There are plenty of ethical, spiritual, caring readers and psychics out here, including myself, who don't charge an arm and a leg, and who really and truly are out to help people.

My first experience that I know of with psychics was when my mother went to a really incredible woman (in person) years ago. This woman (much to my mother's annoyance) talked about me and my life a great deal during my mom's reading. Everything that she predicted came true. She described what I looked like, physical problems that I had at the time, and more.

At the time, still being a fairly young teenager, I filed it away mentally and thought not a lot about it....Just thought it was one of those interesting things.

Time marched on, and I ran across another gifted person, myself, who described my (then passed away) father whom she couldn't possibly have known down to the scar on his chin.

At that point I realized that from my point of view, there had to be something to all this "psychic stuff..." but I still hadn't realized that I had some natural talent in that direction.

And I also realized at that point that (contrary to what my fundamental Christian upbringing had taught me) that these people were not "of the devil" or of the darkness, nor did they think that they were "Gods" or above God or any of that nonsense. They, like me, were trying to help people.

Early in my 20's I began to have prophetic dreams, which came true, as well as some visions that happened when I was awake.

I was afraid to tell people about it for the most part... but the "flashes" became more and stronger and more frequently, and people were beginning to tell me that what I had "predicted" in passing had come true (e.g. the birth or sex of a baby, etc.)

Then someone gave me a deck of Tarot cards. I learned how to read them, and as a tool, they sharpened my ability to "tap in" and very often to see what is going to happen in someone's life.

20 plus years and literally thousands of readings later, I am a full-time psychic, clairvoyant medium, and "spiritual counselor" with clients all over the world.

So my best articulation of how or why it all works:

• It's a God-Given Gift that is meant to help people
• And we are all connected.

That connectedness is what I tap into, and I can do it on the phone or over the internet with people I've never even spoken to. The truth of the matter is I believe everyone is "psychic" to some degree... just it is nearer the surface for some of us.

First of all, be aware that you don't have to pay a huge amount of money for it. There are any number of services out there that have hidden fees, charge outlandish prices like $1.99-$4.99 a MINUTE and some of the less ethical practitioners will try to get you "hooked" so that you come back and spend even more hard earned money. Ethical practitioners are trying to help you stand on your own two feet, not make you dependent on a psychic for figuring out what to do.

Beware any reader who claims 100% accuracy. This is a lie. Always. Every time.

A good reader will not ask a lot of questions, generally--however if you want to offer some background information to help them understand a complicated situation, there is nothing wrong with that. Beware anyone who tells you that you are "cursed" and offers to "break it" for money...that is very often just playing on your fears and taking your money!

Be aware that every reader is different, has different approaches, and uses different tools (and sometimes none at all.) When I am connected very strongly to a client, I may not use my cards at all. When I feel the connection is mild, I might use it for every single question.

Know also that the future is not set in stone, and that even the best of the best readers can only tell you what is likely to happen, not what WILL beyond a shadow of a doubt happen. For example, you could get a good reading that says that you will be happy and healthy and live many years, and then later that evening you could drink 18 beers, get in your car, speed, and wrap yourself around a tree. We all have choices to make. A good reader can help you to make better choices.
