Public Speaking Hypnotherapy

Many people are familiar with that instant feeling of dread, nervousness, anxiety and fear when they know they will have to give a talk, speech or presentation to a group of people.

Some people of course relish giving speeches and being the centre of attention and feel confident when speaking in front of a group of people.

Public speaking is the most common fear and phobia in the Western and probably Eastern world. Most people do not speak in front of groups, at least formally, very often. They therefore have not had the opportunity to practice much or build their skills and confidence with the art of speaking to groups of any size.

The great news is that you can become more confident and feel calmer both before giving your presentation or speech and during this time too.

Do you want help to overcome your public speaking phobia and anxiety?

Tips for Public Speaking

You can reduce considerably your fears and anxieties about speaking to groups of any size by following these tips:-

1) Know what you are talking about

Do your homework and make sure you know your subject. The knowledge you gain will boost your confidence and enable you to handle most questions asked of you. If there are questions you cant answer, say so and let them know you will find the answer.

2) Practice, Reheares and Practice

Rehearse what you are going to say. The more you get used to hearing your own voice speak about your subject the more familiar it will seem and the more relaxed you can feel.

3) Take it slowly

Don't rattle off your words at a fast pace in order to get it over and done with. Speak slowly and you will be able to breathe normally. Leave gaps and pauses between your sentences to allow you to swallow and consider what you will say next. This also gives your audience a chance to absorb what you have said.

4) Look for friendly faces.

Look at your audience and you will feel a connection to them. Look for ant smiling faces and it will help you to feel calmer,

5) Find some help

You don't have to deal with your anxiety alone. Find a hypnotherapist to help you release your fears and gain a boost to your confidence.

6) Breathe

You need to breathe normally when giving your speech. Taking your time and speaking slowly, and having natural pauses between sentences will give you time to breathe normally.
