How to pick a puppy.
How do you find and add a little cute puppy to your family?
All Puppies are good puppies.
But which one is the right one for you?
Many people believe that the puppy that runs right at you is the one you should get.
They could'nt be more wrong. The fact that he runs to you first may be that the other puppies are sleeping and not aware of your presence. Puppies tend to sleep a lot. They play for 10 - 15 minutes and then they crash. Its as simple as that.
What you want to do is to wake them up.
(No it's not cruel, they will fall asleep right after you leave them again)
This can be done by squeezing a toy or just calling out to them.
So what should you look for?
Well
puppies should be curious of their surroundings, the should show
interest in you and your toy. Should you happen to see a sleeping dog
ask the breeder if the dog has just had a shot or are on some kind of
medication.
He could also be a couch potato :p
If you work at home eight hours a day in front of a computer and wants a dog that sits under desk quietly then this dog is the choice for you.
But do you want a lively dog filled with energy, that cant wait to stuff with you should pick the more lively ones.
You
will always find at least one in each group.
You could also test if
the dog is feeling safe and secure in your presence by picking him up
and gently placing him in your lap with his legs hanging on the sides of your legs.
If he stays put and shows no attempt to leave the position, you know that the breeder has carefully placed the dog in different
situations, all to calm the dog.
Some people say that you should do
certain personality tests on your eight weeks old puppies in order to find the one for you.
There is nothing farther from the truth. You will just have to rely on your feelings when you visit the breeder.
You will get a great chance to play with them, hold them and get the feel for them.
What
is really important, and in fact the key to find your pup, is to figure
out what your energy levels are, and what is the puppy's level.
The two of you should match for best results.
If you find a matching dog the chances are that you've found a friend for life.
If you work eight hours at the computer and want a golden, you should go for the sleepy one.
There is a puppy for everyone and the energy level is the key.
Good luck choosing a puppy.

Note.
When I mention the puppy as a he, I do not mean that female puppies are worth less than a male puppy.
I just write male puppy to narrow it down.
I could have written "she" instead and the information would be as accurate.
