Putting Braces On
66The procedure for putting braces on is a very easy one, but one that many new patients often worry about. We've videotaped one of our patients getting his braces put on so others can see how easy it really is.
We asked Ty and his mother if we could videotape his appointment for putting on his braces that morning, so this is completely unscripted. You will notice that his expressions are many, several of which are looks of apprehension and surprise.
Even though we explain the procedure of putting on braces, this is a first-time experience for most, and the "fear of the unknown" is always present. Our hope is that by the time you finish viewing our video, you will understand that putting on braces is a very easy and painless experience.
And while orthodontic office procedures can be different in other offices, the basic process is similar. At Braces By Bergh, we use computerized indirect bonding through OrthoCAD iQ. This method allow us to reduce the time it takes to put braces on by 20-30 minutes, reducing the time our patients are in the treatment chair.
All of our patients appreciate this advanced technology.
Another significant benefit to our patients using this method of putting braces on is the accuracy of braces placement on the teeth. Because the braces are placed on a model of each individual patient's teeth in a laboratory, the accuracy of braces placement is significantly higher than when the orthodontist places them himself.
Even the best orthodontist can't duplicate this accuracy when placing braces directly on a patient's teeth. This accuracy of placement can shorten our patient's treatment time by up to 30%.
Yes, so an orthodontic treatment that would to take 24 months can now be finished in less than 18 months. Our patients love the fact that overall orthodontic treatment takes much less time than before.
This accuracy also reduces the number of adjustments that need to be made in the final archwires. This increases the overall comfort of braces because most of the alignment of the teeth is done early in treatment with small, flexible wires.
We've found our patients love having their braces put on with this method, because it is so easy and takes so little time. And happy orthodontic patients and parents are satisfied orthodontic patients and parents.
Our office is located at 1111 N. Brand Blvd, Ste 201, Glendale, CA 91202. (818) 242-1173.
