Carles Puyol was born in La Pobla de Segur, Catalonia, Spain on April 13, 1978. He has been playing for FC Barcelona since he was 17 years old when he joined Barcelona´s B team. In 1999 he started playing for Barca´s first team. He plays defense for his beloved team. Barcelona beat Manchester United 2-0 during the final of the Champions League 2009.
