History of Quantya

Quantya is a Swiss company created after two stroke engines - popular at the time in motocross bikes were banned in Switzerland due to the loud noise they make. There have since been problems all over the world with the noise levels associated with dirt bikes. Quantya designed a battery powered dirt bike called the FMX. This was their first generation bike and it was truly a ground breaking development.

After a lot of testing and excitement from the global media the team at Quantya released two more bikes to replace the FMX. This time using more powerful Lithium Polymer batteries which were capable of delivering more power and lasting longer. Now the Quantya was ready for market.

Their strongest market so far has been in Germany and Austria where a number of Quantya Parks have been created. These parks operate as hire and ride centres. Quantya receives a lot of press and is continuing to push the boundaries of what can be achieved.

Quantya Track

The Track is the offroad only version of the two Quantya bikes currently available. It is not road legal as it has no signalling equipment. The bike is totally electric, making it almost silent. The only noise is that created by the moving parts - mostly just the chain going round. The noise of the tyres on the ground can be heard like on a mountainbike - a strange noise never heard before by most motorcyclists.

The Quantya Track has incredibly fast acceleration. This is due to the electric motor and single gear. There is no clutch or gears at all - it is simply twist and go. This makes the bikes very easy to ride and have fun on. Where you would normally find a clutch, on the left hand side of the steering bar, there is a back brake, like on a mountainbike. The footpegs are free of any pedals.
