Question number one: The property is with you from what date?
This is the most common question that beginner investors and developers do not ask. They feel that asking people how long they have the property is a waste of time and that they will not be able to go out and gain anything out of this. However, a closer look will tell you that if you ask this one question to people, this will help you in the way that you will negotiate the prices of your property. For example, one of the things that will be very useful to you is that when you ask this question, you will gauge the ability of the seller to absorb price offers. People that owned the house for a long time are prime candidates for haggling while people that have owned the property for a short time will more likely hold out more.

Question number two: what is the reason you want to sell the property?
This is a very important when you want to know the motivation behind the sales of the property. Also, by knowing the motivation of the seller, you will have a good chance of getting to know the type of haggling skills that you can command. There are a lot of things that can factor why people are selling property and if you can know these things, you can use this to your advantage.

Question number three: how long are you willing to wait?
This is a great question to ask when you want to know how good a deal you will be getting. First of all, when they say that they are in no rush at all to sell the property, then you will not be able to go out and get the best deal that you are thinking of. If on the other hand they say that they want the deal to get done quickly then you can take this as an indication that you can get the best deal out of this since you will be able to go out and put pressure on the seller and negotiate something to your advantage.

 These questions are a nice start when you want to know preliminary stuff about the property that you are trying to buy. These questions will help you get a feel of how you can go out and negotiate with people.
